Fuck that company!

They also sold ASA on Amazon that was MOST CERTAINLY NOT ASA (absolutely no styrene fumes, prints shiny and translucent, prints fine around 220 C). I reviewed it fairly for this reason (and sent it back), and Flashforge falsely reported my review as whatever bogus reason.

Amazon’s community outreach team (or whatever the call the unmanned inbox that’s supposed to handle these problems) ignored me.

It’s a company run by assholes who want to pull a bait and switch so they can also be like Bambu Labs and exert ownership over YOUR printer.

Don’t give them business. There are way better options out there.

Fuck flasgforge, but also fuck Amazon. They are one if the worse companies in the world!

Joseph Prusa must be a happy man nowadays

I was just thinking about that. What a great turn of events for Prusa. Guess consistency, quality, and respecting your users goes a long way.

Eh, prusa still seems to be behind the curve, and their insistence on sticking to their old proprietary firmware instead of moving to a more modern approach with klipper and work with the huge community there is IMO a bad move.

I don't see how anyone could have a response to this other than go get fucked. I hope people start saying this with their wallets immediately.

Using AI to "have ideas" is like using a car to go for a run.

Rossman needs to talk faster.

The poor man is just trying to keep up with all the shitty companies doing shitty things all the time, he's only got one lifetime and he needs to fit a lot in. It's like that scene in Spaceballs where President Skroob is running everywhere, "The ship is too big! If I walk, the movie would be over!"

He’s the only YouTuber that I CANT watch at 1.5x .

[–] RobotToaster@mander.xyz 9 points 6 days ago

I can only watch him at 1.5x speed, most people I'm watching at 2x.

Was anyone still buying flashforge that isn't an institution?

[–] OctopusNemeses@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Well that's disappointing. Is there a better brand in their price range?

[–] fhein@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

When shopping for a cheap 3d printer forget about brand loyalty, most of the common ones have released both a some decent and some garbage printers. That doesn't mean they're all the same though, some brands are worse than the rest. Since I started 3d printing I've been told to avoid Flashforge because they (allegedly) make printers that are designed to fail, and that they have altered common open designs to force you to buy their extremely overpriced spare parts instead of cheaper/better third party components.

Unfortunately I've been out of the 3d-printer-recommending loop for a few years but when I was more active Sovol had an above average track record. However, there is nothing saying that they won't do the same thing as Creality, and drop any semblance of quality while bribing youtubers for good reviews once they are popular enough.

No...you can pay more for less, but at least it's actually yours.

that's not less, that's more.
