If you manage to get your hands on the Playboy PDF full dump, the articles contain stuff very similar OPs quote.
Not sure about old timer Playboy's but the mid to late 2000s have quite a few incredible articles. Lots of them are future predictions by various in the know type individuals. I notice some articles and or "write ups" had zero editorial oversight. None. It makes for some refreshingly honest opinions. No holds bar essentially. Some of the tech predictions are mind blowing.
The "nudy pics" are an annoyance. Given today's pron desensititation, the air brushed titties and mia bushed out vaginas are weak af, not to mention the lack of "moving pictures". I just scroll past them along with the ads until I reach another article section.
I also only "read' Playboy for the articles
I wish I could get a bunch of these printed out, it's hard on my eyes attempting to read on these goddamn black mirrors.
People know the ‘I only read Playboy for the articles’ joke but it’s genuinely why the magazine lasted as long as it has. Playboy certainly wasn’t the only one doing nude photography nor was it the most extreme.
But the magazine has had some genuinely great writers over the years. Notable ones like Roald Dahl, Jack Kerouac, Ian Fleming, Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke, Hunter S. Thompson and a whole slew of journalists and columnists who went on to write great stuff.
Playboy tended to give their writers a lot of freedom and published things others wouldn’t. After all, if you’re already controversial, you might as well publish controversial writing.
I think it's in the name, they played us boys with their hidden artistry.
I got genuinely curious now

Just pulled this from September 2001, I imagine it came out before 9/11. It's a fictional story based on Timothy Mcveih.
"PUZZLE MAN
WHEN A SOLDIER DIES WITH HIS SECRETS
I am not crazy, no matter what people say. I have valid reasons for everything I did, and I am at peace. My complete story will never be told, but when my heart is stopped by Uncle Sam's pherma-ceuticals, my spirit will ascend like a white balloon over the Wabash River and fly up to heaven. God will welcome me into his house, saying, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. You followed your beliefs end acted on them. You have been a steadfast patriot to your cause, and I hereby place you at my right hand."
Life isn't so difficult here, but I do face a few problems. Especially when I try to sleep, because the children always appear in my dreams and ask me to play with them. They have Tonka toys and coloring books and Nerf balls, and they pull me toward the puzzle that lies scattered on the big table in the day care center.
That puzzle bothers them a lot. They want to complete it. They circle around it and ask me for help. "What is it supposed to be?" they ask me. They laugh and push the pieces of the puzzle around on the table and look at me with hopeful eyes. And at that moment in my dreems, I know these children are alive and at play in the fields of eternity.
FICTION BY ASA BABER"
Super eerie, what does it say ? sounds like an allegory

I mean we all knew he was a psycho. Just like that time he killed Oprah with Force Lightning

She had it coming after the incident with the bees.
Yet somehow, Oprah returned.
He struck her down but she became more powerful than he could possibly imagine.
This is fake news. Tom Cruise never killed Oprah with lightning, he was just tickling her with it.
Tom Cruise is Tom Cruise crazy, just be glad it's him not you
If you had Tom Cruise's troubles, you might be Tom Cruise crazy too.
You'd flash your big white shiny smile You'd buy expensive shoes
But you'd be the only man on Earth, who couldn't enjoy Tom Cruise, oh no You couldn't enjoy Tom Cruise
well now I have to add joco back into my regular rotation
If any Scientology member is in any media, it is on my "do not watch" list. I will never support that cult financially. And by the way, where is Shelley? She was last seen 2007 at her fathers funeral, and the police doesn't do shit.
Who's shelley?

Debbie Stovelman, however, is alive and well. Boom boom!
Wtf

WDYM WTF? I once tried to commit suicide by shooting myself in the chest 3x. I was still alive so I ate some concrete, grabbed a different gun and shot myself in the head.
Yeah this is like the old joke where a black dude was found in a ditch with 17 stabs in the back, and police determined it was a suicide
Or the guy that suicided himself in his apartment in London, thankfully he was considerate enough to wipe his phone and lock himself in a suitcase in the bathtub after though.
Glad you survived that.
I believe she is the wife of the current leader of the church.
Oh, yeah, she'sdead
He also sucks the life out of nearly every role he's cast in (the one pictured above being a rare exception.) The guy is a walking void of charisma, and I avoid his movies due to the simple fact that they're made worse by his involvement.
Edge of tomorrow - he is fine in that perfect movie
Tropic Thunder - he is hilarious
rain man
the last samurai
minority report
magnolia - perfect fit for the role
He's great in Collateral. He plays great villains.
"Vanilla Sky", and his acting in it, is plain fantastic, I have to hand it to him.
you don't HAVE to hand it to Tom Cruise. You certainly CAN, but by no means are you required to.
This is one of the Mandela effect things, where the correct title (well, right now, in this universe) is the vampire. Where does this image come from?!
Whenever you see or hear about a Mandela Effect thing like this it’s important to remember that 50% of people are of below average intelligence.
Shit, I remember it being 50% of people are above average intelligence. Guess I got split into the stupid reality :(
Even if it's real, it could just be a typo and editorial oversight.
