Liberals tuning in to literally watch paint dry is a hell of a thing

They get so excited by this shit.

Nothing like a little sampler of damnatio memoriae on a Friday afternoon.

They love their little anti-heretical rituals to protect the sanctity of American democracy. Totally not a religion, btw.

After Trump starts his third term - he'll rename it "TRUMP CENTER" in 30 foot high gold letters.

One small step on a scaffold

One giant scrape for mankind

My brain shut down when a liberal irl said Trumps name going on that building was the most enraging thing going on that week. This was in December. At the time, besides continuing to aid Israel, the US was striking small boats in Venezuelan waters during the build-up to kidnapping Maduro and Flores. I’ll be honest with you, I hadn’t even heard about the Kennedy Center stuff. I waited for my colleague to explain something grave about that situation, but it never came.

A reporter on Bluesky is live tweeting the livestreaming - https://bsky.app/profile/marisakabas.bsky.social/post/3mo4gyypmic2s

i feel like they could've used a construction lift to reach the letters but the scaffolding is higher drama which i respect from a performing arts center.

I doubt that the floor there is rated for a construction lift, and they likely don't want to tear up the grass to have a boom come in and reach through. Tough around there, D.C. is literally mostly built on swamp land.

That said, typical shit, not investigating actual material engineering reasoning and just assuming it is just spectacle.

Edit Apparently they rolled lifts in to put it up, so idk what is going on.
