I'd watch it in theaters if tickets didn't cost at least $15 with additional service fees if you try buying them online.

It was a good solid instalment. Maybe not as awe inspiring as the first movie simply because we’re now familiar with the visuals, but solid. More of what already worked. Nice that it gives some backstory and information on the geopolitical situation of the area.
One minor quirk was I didn’t like a few scenes where Hemsworth would try to play his character in a goofy way a la Jack Sparrow.
I swear they dubbed in Charlene Theron’s voice for Anya a time or two.
It was never going to be as good as Fury Road. There was just no way. So he didn't try. And I appreciate that. A few on the CG scenes were spotty, but it was better than some in the franchise, not as good as others. All in all, I enjoyed it and thought it was a ton of fun.
One thing I haven’t seen mentioned enough is how well it will work with Fury Road for first time viewers.
Think of Fury Road as the sequel and this becomes an awesome pair of films.
The Furiosa plot through the films is great and the elevation of the action and its stakes in Fury Road after the plot foundations in Furiosa make for a brilliant “sequel”.
Dunno if Charlize Theron had a twin sister but Anya definitely nailed Charlize's voice.
Could not notice any cgi in the theater but at home yeah, but I would prefer this more than unhealthy productions. The movie is peak entertainment. Not a masterpiece like fury road but pretty damn fun.
I don't understand how people can say this. I saw both mad max movies in theaters, and the CG was so immersion breaking in both for me. Not just bits of odd looking shots here or there, but the majority of the movies. It looks like they did sky replacement or some other monkeying around. All the lighting looks off and there's that classic grey-washing on edges throughout. I don't know what I'm talking about; I just know it looks ass to me and I wish it didn't because they're fun movies.
I prefer movies like these than whatever the fk avatar 2 was. And immersion is idk, you can enjoy theatre performances even if the set is nothing. The bikes getting craned up in the first dementus vs evil guy was super rough. Other than that, it was very much fine for me.
It is a fun Sunday afternoon movie. The exaggerated noticeable CGI hurt it too bad, and at times the frame feels way too clean for a Mad Max movie. It had too large shoes to fill being associated with Fury Road. On the cinema the green screen is much more obvious than on a home TV as well.
Honestly, I had a good time with this one. Definitely worse than Fury Road, but it’s still a good enough popcorn flick

Did you see the version of Mad Max where they dubbed the Australian voices into American ones, because they felt Americans wouldn't understand the Aussie accent? That made the movie 100x worse.
No. they all had Aussie voices but while reading up on why mad max was so bad I did see that they released a north American version with American accent voice overs! That’s crazy.
Turns out the reason they made 3 mad max movies (initially) was because they made the movie on a shoestring budget and it went on the be “the most profitable movie of all time!” And that fact still holds up today.
Never knew such a version existed!?! That's...... Mental.
I didn't even know it was in theaters, because fuck theaters.

Argylle has a chance if it can escape the apple walled garden. It's almost as bad as being launched exclusively on paramount.
Yeah, I enjoyed Argylle when I saw it in.the cinema, it"s a pity more people haven't got to see it since.
Argylle was so crazy and ridiculous, but they created no illusions about that, so I was prepared for it going in and honestly it was a pretty fun watch. It did feel a tad too long, though.
Had too much noticeable CG for my liking really hurt my overall enjoyment of it unfortunately. It also honestly could have been 30 minutes shorter, but that's a criticism I have of nearly all movies coming out lately.
Funny. I watched it just recently. I noticed something a bit CGi very early on, realised that that whole thing would be a distraction and turned that off in my brain … didn’t notice a thing afterwards and didn’t care … the film looked great.
I keep saying it … this practical v CGI thing has gone too far.

I can understand that. Really don’t want to ~~stack~~ attack you personally or anything. It’s part of why I describe it as a cultural thing that’s ~~give~~ gone to far. If everyone is talking about it, it’s on our minds as it was on mine. My ability to ignore may be significantly attributable to not great eyesight (even with glasses, there’s something that’s lost from your peripheral vision IME).
It reminds me of my feeling of mediocre acting. Fuck that. Give me good. Or shit. I wanna laugh or be swept up lmao
Blame the Asian markets. From what I understand movies are considered an "event" expected to last well over two hours.
I very much agree that most movies have way too much filler added to reach their current lengths.

It's a good film, the opening CGI sound stage was disappointing and probably turned off some reviewers, but ignore that and it's a fine member of the franchise. Like its totally a good movie to watch in the theater and bring a date with, fun times, no real complaints. It's only down in the list because the other entries were SO ICONIC!

I guess there’s something crude and fierce about Mad Max 1 that I find really endearing. Maybe it’s not a good film, but it’s got an enormous amount of heart. You can tell Miller was gonna be big from the first :)
When only the first three existed, which was true for my whole childhood, Thunderdome felt like too big a departure from the grit and grime of the first two. It felt sort of overinflated and a camp.

First half was pretty ok, but you know, just felt like it was coasting off Fury Road...and the middle bit got...a bit long and the last part...holy fuck would someone please kill Thor and shut him the fuck up ....my god the movie could have. should have ended so much earlier.
I disagree. The ending was quite satisfying. It wasn't like the captain marvel ending.
