'disagree with lgbt' lmfao no one is making you be gay you lawful-nazi lawyer weeb, by 'disagree with' we all know you mean 'seeks the extermination of', pathetically trying to hide behind 'civil rational discourse' jargon as a paper thin coating for nazi ideology. people like @MangaLawyer should be 'disagreed with' into a deep mine shaft barbara-pit. i wish his entire ideological cohort had been 'disagreed with' more thoroughly in World Disagreement 2. really out here using 'disagree with' the same way liberals think we use 'deeply unserious' but without the conviction to drop the facade of civil discourse lmfao

As a queer person I am actually going to make all the straights be gay. This is my mask off moment sicko-queer

[-] frauddogg@hexbear.net 21 points 5 days ago

And a third of those straights will also be forced into the socks

[-] nohaybanda@hexbear.net 20 points 5 days ago

Beyond lenient. Harden your heart, comrade. Every last one is putting on the cat ears too

[-] frauddogg@hexbear.net 18 points 5 days ago

I am nothing if not merciful; yet you speak true.

[-] GenderIsOpSec@hexbear.net 15 points 5 days ago

Once I'm the commissar of the Gender Bureau I will make HRT mandatory, all cissies will be bombed via HRT bombs until the cis genocide is real

[-] Lussy@hexbear.net 13 points 5 days ago

Hasn’t Israel’s disagreement with Palestine taught you anything?

[-] Philosophosphorous@hexbear.net 11 points 5 days ago

i want to Disagree With the president of the united states

[-] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 11 points 5 days ago

Seriously.

Being lgbt is not a political opinion, there are gay conservatives! Peter Thiel is gay and is actively agitating for his own oppression but still hasn’t divorced!

[-] Huldra@hexbear.net 49 points 5 days ago

Amazing that the grievances have receded into "telling straight women to log off."

Literally milder than telling someone to touch grass.

[-] spectre@hexbear.net 20 points 5 days ago

Yeah there's no implication that the person has to leave the house, or get off the sofa. Just watch some Netflix or some things and chill out. Hilarious to get stirred up about that.

[-] ksynwa@lemmygrad.ml 43 points 5 days ago

For the love of god please stop making me want to buy weeb ubisoft shovelware

[-] Philosophosphorous@hexbear.net 32 points 5 days ago

pretty sure its sucker punch (sly cooper, infamous) not ubisoft, if thats any consolation. arguably same genre but imo better execution.

[-] ksynwa@lemmygrad.ml 25 points 5 days ago

I know it's them but it's, as you said, the same loop of liberating camps. I couldn't stomach the tired romanticisation of samurai, honour etc. in the first game.

[-] Philosophosphorous@hexbear.net 20 points 5 days ago

yea its pretty egregiously ahistorical, kinda like the 300 of samurai, or the anachronistic concept of 'chivalry' as applied to european knights. exactly as you said, a romanticisation.

[-] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 7 points 4 days ago

It's more inspired by chambara movies than by samurai history. Similar to how Red Dead Redemption is drawing from western movies more than cowboy history.

[-] ksynwa@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 3 days ago

I don't know what the average samurai movie was like but even comparing to works of the apolitical Kurosawa the plot is completely devoid of anything of substance. It's like a Disney movie and the whole motion of being invaded as a nation to beating the invasion is essentially shown as a slice of life with any political baggage ignored.

It's not unique in this respect by any means but for a blockbuster game to be so hollow in 2020 feels incredibly disappointing. Their implementation of the Kurosawa filter is a good gauge for the level of interest they have in the subject matter. I don't understand how they are working with an artistic medium on a daily basis, explicitly taking inspiration from existing art that has a long history of being critically analysed, and then they end up making something so intellectually bankrupt.

The reason I am so salty about this is that games like this are not just made but they are received well too. It is so stupid. The only people expecting the game to do better are woke looney leftists.

Sorry for rant. It is not aimed at you and I agree with what you said. But I just hate this game.

[-] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 3 points 3 days ago

I think I've just seen enough extremely shit adaptations of Seven Samurai that I set a very low bar for "inspired by the works of Akira Kurosawa" lol. That, and I have very low expectations of high-budget, mass market freeze-gamer slop :)

I enjoyed the game, but I liked it in a similar way to how I enjoyed the earlier Assassin's Creed games - relatively compelling adventure gameplay in a kinda neat historical-ish setting i-love-not-thinking. You're right, though, the storytelling hasn't advanced too much from Ninja Gaiden on the NES

[-] zod000@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 days ago

The Ninja Gaiden series on the NES might have a better story. Not a dig so much as Ninja Gaiden is under rated.

[-] graymess@hexbear.net 5 points 5 days ago

Kind of a shame they're doubling down on another samurai game and not doing something new. I'd even prefer a new Sly or Infamous.

[-] Awoo@hexbear.net 39 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

The incredible crime of telling someone to log off and touch-grass

[-] TheLepidopterists@hexbear.net 41 points 5 days ago

Told them to log off for "disagreeing with LGBT" is wild. If someone is being actively homophobic, log off is exceptionally restrained.

[-] TheLastHero@hexbear.net 16 points 5 days ago

telling a twitter user to log off is violence. You are basically a terrorist for doing so

[-] abfarid@startrek.website 32 points 5 days ago

What's "disagreeing with LGBT"? What are they disagreeing on? Tea vs. coffee?

[-] barrbaric@hexbear.net 20 points 4 days ago

A polite way of saying they want to exterminate all LGBT people.

[-] booty@hexbear.net 20 points 5 days ago

They raised an issue with the gay agenda at the yearly meeting but they were shut down aubrey-rage-cry

[-] comrade_pibb@hexbear.net 15 points 5 days ago

"i disagree that ur gay lmao"

[-] miz@hexbear.net 36 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

four years since a summer filled with riots sparked by police doing a cold-blooded murder that took eight minutes while the victim pleaded, and people still think they can scaremonger with "hating the police"? fuck yes we hate the police, and we fucking hate you too

[-] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 37 points 5 days ago

LearningTheLaw

Mangalawyer

Way to be lawful evil, weeb. And that avatar pic is a fucking rebel fighting an evil empire. LITERARY ANALYSIS, GOT ANY?! guts-rage

[-] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 6 points 5 days ago

I keep saying, reactionaries love to call themselves Chaotic Neutral but they're textbook lawful evil.

[-] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 5 points 5 days ago

The single biggest chud I ever had in my tabletop group insisted everything he did was "Chaotic Good." That included using magic trickery and lying to pretend to be the god of a low-tech island nation to try to turn them into slaves. He argued "they're primitive and stupid and I'm doing them a favor!" frothingfash

[-] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 5 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

They're primitive and stupid and I'm doing them a favor.

Oh, so he was just roleplaying as a snooty elf who will redeem themself, right? anakin-padme-2

They'll do a redemption arc later, right? anakin-padme-4

But yeah, DnD is one hell of a good look into some people's psychology, the guy I had at least gave up the ghost that he didn't care so much about what is right and more of what works, like a chuddier adult in the room thing.

EDIT: Almost immediately after posting I realized mind flayers were a bad example

[-] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 4 points 5 days ago

Oh, so he was just roleplaying as a snooty elf who will redeem themself, right?

One of his most absurd rants came after I said how I liked how the Elder Scrolls series typically presented the "pretty" people/culture as often the source of evil and misery (Altmer "High Elves," more often than not) and he went on a long rant about how he was sick and tired of evil being shown as pretty and good being shown as ugly and blamed "political correctness" (he's an old fuck and as far as I know didn't pick up on the woke/DEI terminology since) for that.

What a great story that would be where the pretty people are born good and the ugly people are born evil! Gygax would be proud! i-am-adolf-hitler

You don’t have to sell me on it, mangalawyer, I’m already interested

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 26 points 5 days ago

Kind of wacky how reactionaries love to call anything they don't like 1984 but we have the daily Two Minutes Hate from them on the regular over whatever woman or poc is pissing them off that day.

[-] vegeta1@hexbear.net 15 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

The real 1984 are the enemies we've made on the way

[-] Philosophosphorous@hexbear.net 11 points 5 days ago

much like the original 1984 it was always, always projection

[-] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 8 points 5 days ago

I wish it was only two minutes.

It's sometimes double the run time, or more, of whatever treat got too political for them. pronouns

[-] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 18 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

“They told us to log off in response to me calling for their mass extermination! Day of the rope NOW!”

What? You expect people to just take an insult with a goofy smile on their face? The world ain’t one big retail store, fucker. Talk shit get ~~hit~~ told to log off. After all, maybe now you can smile and forgive them…you think revenge is wrong? So don’t get revenge on them for getting revenge on you!

[-] frauddogg@hexbear.net 18 points 5 days ago

Y'know, I was almost a day-one lock for this game; then I went to check if Ghost of Tsushima had gotten a PC port. It did, but, they also mandate a PSN account. Even if you're buying it on Steam.

Can't justify making an account on the single most hacked online gaming platform in existence; and they're probably going to do that stupid bullshit with Ghost of Yotei, too.

They're using Erika's voice AND likeness? Shit I might actually play this (JK but I will watch all the gameplay they are featured in).

[-] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 10 points 4 days ago

Hey Gamers who hate gays, I have an awesome Gamer mancave dungeon full of free NON-WOKE games for you to explore! There's plentiful Mtn Dew and doritos too! Here have a look: barbara-pit

What's going on here, exactly? Why are people mad at the person who played one of the leads in LA By Night? I'm usually the last to know these things.

Not people, just conservatives

[-] AmericaDelendaEst@hexbear.net 8 points 5 days ago
