In 2021, /r/drama got kicked off reddit by the admins for hate speech or something. They made that site as a replacement.

Nah, it was for stepping on the admins toes too many times by abusing site mechanics, I remember how it happened.
SRD and Drama used to have a big feud as that post demonstrates and over time SRD filtered out the more reactionary types while Drama didn’t but it was still not a pure chud hub.
Only mod of the Iowa sub reddit was/is still a mod of r/drama. Seeing that suddenly explained why all the other mods left or stopped moderating.
They loved to have the drama accounts be unbanned

yeah, we dug up the r/drama offsite lifeboat at one point like a year ago. also i'd express some caution, because i swear previous threads on it had concerns about opsec and tracking on their end
There was also some user in I forget which other instance who was trying to get a drama comm off the ground and was constantly trying to shit stir with Hexbear posts.

I've spent an unfortunate amount of time trying to bully them into paying attention to real politics. They're honestly a bunch of nihilists who don't believe they stand for anything but mostly take center-right talking points. They know Trump can't be taken seriously, so their support for him is ironic, and the unironic Trump supporters are bullied off of the frontpage.
It's a cesspit but you can abuse the stupid (they are consistent in their application of freedom of speech as a value; that's the drama) and I made more of a difference writing about fascism there than I did on reddit. But I'm inclined to get out of the game. YMMV.
