Ok, being a fly, try breaking into a beehive and laying your eggs in their honey, see how well it goes for you. Or just be thankful that you answer to no queen and all the world's shit is yours for the taking.

There is a saying that "honey attracts more flies than vinegar" but this has me wondering if honey would attract more flies than a pile of shit. πŸ€”

this is recursive, people will never stop reading this forever until they die of starvation.

"Read that again"

A sentence that never follows something of value

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 49 points 1 week ago

I love that the "read that again" is part of the quote of an unknown source quoting a nameless "wise man".

A SENTENCE!

[–] ddash@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 1 week ago

I think the quoted person called "unknown" is a good indicator as well.

instructions unclear, i've been reading this in a loop for the past 7 hours

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 30 points 1 week ago

That's how you end up with massive AWS bills.

[–] Sergio@slrpnk.net 20 points 1 week ago

Oh, but did you try reading it again louder?

[–] Psythik@lemm.ee 10 points 1 week ago

Seriously, though, what are we supposed to be looking for in the second readthrough? I can't find any sort of typo or hidden message.

"For the people in the back"? The back of where? What is this man talking about? I'm not on stage. I'm in my living room, waiting for the kettle to boil. Are there people in my house? Who are "the people in the back"? I'm reading this sentence out loud but it still sounds fucking stupid. Help me, bald man with beard!

I think grown bees don't eat honey

[–] naeap@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

In my experience they do.
I've given some cooled out bees some honey and warm water, and they always go for it and usually recover and fly away

I mean from the flies' perspective the opposite is probably true, so wygd

[–] Drbreen@sh.itjust.works 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Smart people don't bother explaining to dumb people how dumb they are.

[–] Psaldorn@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

And yet the post and the message both try to get you to explain it by reading it again or louder.

[–] zipzoopaboop@lemmynsfw.com 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I don't get why this is in this community. It's a good message. 2 groups with very different interests, they are never going to convince eachother that their own thing is better.

Person A loves skydiving. Person B loves reading. They're never going to convince eachother that the other hobby is better.

Everyone taking away that flies are stupid people are just falling in the same pitfall of fighting battles with no victory condition

[–] whome@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 1 week ago

I read it like a anti social guideline: don't share your good info with others less deserving or so. But that might be wrong.

[–] pastermil@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

You know... I actually agree with this one. This is why I don't go around telling people Linux is better.

Thanks for a sane comment to build on.

I actually think it is a fault of the American educated class that they assume that the uneducated people understand what they missed.

We all think everyone gets it or will get it with some Cliffs Notes.

That just isn’t true.

Honey is bee vomit so...there's that.

[–] gofsckyourself@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's not technically vomit because they have a special chamber separate from their stomach for it.

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

If honey is bee vomit, then babies are human piss

Tomato tomatoe

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 7 points 1 week ago

"Hey, boss, why do we have to lick shit? Isn't there a lot of honey?" - "That is just s myth, now eat your shit."

Good advice, why concern yourself with the opinions of LESSER MORTALS?

Thank you 🫑

now the question is whether the edit will federate

[–] Damage@feddit.it 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Are there known issues with that?

[–] crmsnbleyd@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 week ago

I've seen it first hand
