I adopted a kitten because I was in a pet store and she reached out of the mutt cat community cage and snagged my sweater with her claws. I stopped because she really had a hold of my sweater, and she was the smallest cat in the cage. I took her home and we lived twenty two years together. She was so talkative. She would yell before entering any room. She was the best friend I ever had.

My cat hypes herself up before big jumps and as she lands. It's like "Merp... Merp... MEERrrrrrr-URP" (as she jumps and lands).

I was just talking to the upstairs neighbor's cat because he won't let me pass by without picking him up and hearing about his day (he bites my ankles if I try to go past without saying hello).

Except at 2am. And 3am. And 4, 5, and 6am. On the hour, every hour. We have an alarm cat* and it's cat o'clock.

Of course, she sleeps during the day.

My tortie is also a fan of screaming in the middle of the night, preferably (for her) in my face. I love her chattiness during the day, though.

My cat loves to help me when I am on work calls. She'll come up to me and meow straight into my mic. Clients absolutely adore it lol

One of my kitties’ favorite games is fetch, with a specific type of ball. I know when he wants to play because I’ll hear the increasingly loud rounded mrowls of him trying to scream while holding a ball in his mouth as he walks down the hallway to plop it on the floor and kick it into my feet.

My cat too. With bottle caps.

Everyone knows the meows matter, but the meow-wows... That's when they are spilling the tea

Love it when cats are vocal!

Here’s a crazy story, had the one acquaintance come over to my place and heard my cat meowing loudly and eagerly claimed that they are making a cat translator and that he saw it on TikTok.

He legitimately tried a combo of meows to talk to my cat….

Fuck I can’t stand the brain rot being spread nowadays on TikTok and the Facebook shitholes.

I have two, one meows all the time every time he sees me, he even does drive bys when he runs through the room I'm in. The other one is pretty quiet but i always know when he's about to poop.

My cats like to announce loudly when they are done pooping. It's a very specific and audibly differentiable meow, like they are notifying me to come clean up. 😂

You can train that "meow to poop" behavior. All of my cats do it. It's because every time I go to the bathroom, I say to the house in general (okay to the cats) "gotta poop!" And well, you know how cats copy.

We had a tiny basement and a small single room upstaira, both were mostly used as storage (and laundry for the basement). Our boy would spend most of his time hanging out with us, but sometimes he would go upstairs or downstairs just to yell his lungs out. Even though he was typically very affectionate, if I came to check on him he'd act kind of aggravated and run off, like you're not supposed to be here, gimme my space. Okay little man. I really don't know what that was about.

One night I was drifting off and my wife woke me saying "Did you hear that?" I said "No, what was it?" and she said "it souded like he screamed upstairs" and being a loving husband and cat dad I said "he always screams" and fell right back asleep. The next morning he had a mild limp so yeah, he fell off the rail edge partway down the stairs. I'm glad he healed up quick because this story would be a lot less funny to me.

We love our screamy furballs huh. I haven't had one that screamed all day for fun until this current one (both my wife and I are singers, so I always just figured he's joining in or singing his own songs).

One of ours does that when he comes home, tells us a lot of stories.

Another just meows when complaining so you know what's up.

You may get a short conversation between "ma", "meh", "mah", "maha"... Secret words apparently.
