People use that word wrong. If it's paid after the service is provided, it's a tip. If it's paid before, then it's a bribe

Its still paid after but you can see the tip first and deny it if it's not to your liking.

*I don't agree with tipping culture and how disgusting it has gotten but just being pedantic I guess

The amount of people not understanding this is mental

I have a theory that Lemmy commenters are dumber than you'd expect and this comment section doesn't help their case lmao

Risky comment. They also cannot handle any sort of criticism whatsoever

[–] rishado@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

People don't understand that niche thing that only seem to be a problem in america? Crazy

I was about to say to buy an electronic duster instead, then it dawned on me

Got one a couple years back. God damn thing would push a Schooner against a current. Brilliant piece of kit.

What a waste. $15 air compressor for blowing up air beds does a better job, with no pollution

[–] DrunkAnRoot@sh.itjust.works 61 points 3 days ago (4 children)

i dont think its for computers 😞

[–] Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world 19 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Almost all of that has some sort of additive now that makes it extremely unpleasant to huff.

[–] eldoom@lemmy.ml 25 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You just have to blow it through a folded up rag usually... Otherwise, do you think an addict would stop just because it tastes bad?

Why not invest a little time in an air compressor and a refillable can?

You can still add the shitty chemicals from bulk.

[–] filcuk@lemmy.zip 40 points 3 days ago (6 children)

This is someone huffing cans, they're not in a position to be setting up their own drug enterprise

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Look if you're buying this many you're at least a hobbyist and should take the time to learn how the sausage is made.

Canned air is not actually pressurized air in a can though. It's a liquid refrigerant.

And he's gonna be... HIGH, as a kite by then.

NGL, I'd buy that much at Costco just to have on hand and not have to buy duster for a while until I figured I could just use something like a air matress filler pump.

At that point just buy a a 5lb CO2 tank. That's what I use in my work van. It's a bit more expensive upfront but it'll last longer, it's refillable, higher pressure, and the cost of refills makes it cheaper per pound of gas. If you want to get really fancy then you also put a regulator on it so you aren't dusting as 700 PSI but that's optional. Plenty of my coworkers just tap straight off the tank.

Compressed air. Used to clean electronics. You can also use it to get high (which is what is being implied is happening here) with some very serious side effects.

[–] Jeremyward@lemmy.world 38 points 3 days ago

Very serious == death, dont do it kids.

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 5 points 2 days ago

I had an old, dusty laptop that needed some serious cleaning recently, so I went to the store to buy one of these. Was rather surprised that they’d make me go to the counter and show my ID before allowing me to purchase one, but now I know why.

[–] black_flag@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 3 days ago (2 children)

If you turn them upside-down you can use them to make stuff cold also.

[–] Postmortal_Pop@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago

Also very flamable that way.
