Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

replacing them every day is just so great though because I can just picture the hate filled cunt scraping their bare fingers in a blind rage at the thought of someone different than them. Keep going op get em so worked up they have an aneurysm

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 19 hours ago

Much easier to put on stickers than it is to take off with whatever method they're using. See if you can force them to remove the entire pole

[–] QuinnyCoded@sh.itjust.works 7 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

you should do this every day till the whole thing covered 💖

[–] belated_frog_pants@beehaw.org 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Keep putting them up! Fuck the hateful loser that keeps scraping them

[–] VerilyFemme@lemmy.blahaj.zone 23 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Put it higher up! You could also probably put a clear nail polish over it to make it harder to scrape, though I don't know if that would step into actual vandalism territory so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I mean, the others already vandalised, so who cares. Just slap 50 posters everywhere.

Either:

He's busy removing it all (wastes a lot of his time)

or, he gives up (victory)

[–] GalacticSushi@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Nail polish ain't cheap either 💅

But it is easy to shoplift, which is even better.

Persecuted minorities that want to be extra cautious?

[–] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

Obeying the law will not protect you from it, though. If anything it keeps you within its bounds, makes you vulnerable, keeps you weak.

Openly breaking the law while in public is dangerous and especially so if you're in a persecuted minority group, dip shit.

If those are custom stickers, there are sticker manufacturers who make some really tough ones, called egg shell stickers iirc

[–] Redacted@lemmy.zip 37 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Next time you plave one slap it on while jumping as high as you can, the fucker will need a ladder to deface the next one

[–] jlow@discuss.tchncs.de 27 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, was just thinking that. Or bring a friend and do a leg up (if that's what you call it in English).

[–] snoons@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago

We usually call it a friendly blow job.

[–] abbiistabbii@lemmy.blahaj.zone 86 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Somewhere in Britain

Sigh Yeah

[–] fonix232@fedia.io 48 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Transphobic cunts are everywhere sadly.

Do wish they'd fuck off and make their own cuntry though, then normal people could live unbothered.

[–] KernelTale@programming.dev 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Sadly it would a really massive country

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Send em all to the US. Hopefully they'll piss off the fascists and end up in Alligator Auschwitz.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 26 points 2 days ago (3 children)

We're all good over here. We're barely managing to handle our own transphobes, honestly we're doing an insanely good job all things considered, do not send them reinforcements

In fact, look at this post. The UK might have the highest concentration of transphobes, why not ship them all there?

Why not just pick one city?

Or two, for gender segregation?

[–] birdwing@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Why not China? High chance the transphobes also are anti-Chinese. They'll then get sent somewhere soon.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I was suggesting the US cause I am American, and they can't really make shit much worse here.

As a trans person, they absolutely can. Even with the recent rise in transphobia from the Democrats under fascism, it still isn't a truly bipartisan issue here. A lot of Americans just don't care that much, even if they don't like trans people.

[–] Neptr@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 day ago

Shit can always get worse; there is no such thing as rock bottom.

[–] birdwing@lemmy.blahaj.zone 51 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

And two new ones we shall put onto the damaged ones.

Actually, let's put up 15. And also on other poles. Or a pole near a camera.

[–] moonlight@fedia.io 19 points 1 day ago

Or go full hydra and add two for each one that is removed

[–] alottachairs@beehaw.org 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ironically the person is probably suffering from all the trans hate they are exposed to and manipulated by.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 19 hours ago

They deserve the stickers to be visible more than anybody then

[–] Midnitte@beehaw.org 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Now you get to replace it with a scratch and sniff version that smells rancid!

I remember some of the scratch and sniff stickers in the Earthbound player's guide smelling pretty awful.

[–] Frozzie@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

Another one

I'm guessing "Transphobia harms everyone"
