I saw a number of comments saying he should ask the cops and even the National Guard to do something to oppose ICE and other feds. They mean the same cops that murdered George Floyd? I know libs lack object permanence, but that was only 5 years ago. The pigs will side with ICE every day of the week because "Some of those that work forces / Are the same that burn crosses".
The local and state cops are actively attacking protesters right now to defend the feds, I do not know what universe people are living in where they think they will side with civilians.
I know we are all onto the whole “cops are publicly subsidized paramilitary who act on behalf of capital” beat but I’m genuinely shocked that stuff like killology training hasn’t made it obvious to more libs
You have to consider that to predict American politics, you need to multiply outcomes by a large stupidness-monkey paw-cruelty cofactor. So it's like "yeah, there's a chance that state police help the people, but it's a volunteer inmate cohort who treat chemical burns from Brand Co. tear gas in exchange for healthcare via a 10 million dollar grant."
If the mayor had any real principles, he'd order the cops to arrest the ICE agents anyway. Then if the pigs refuse, it's at least obvious where the lines are. But he's a spineless liberal, so
not ask, order. and there would be resistance but you could probably find enough pigs to try to do their job if an authority is telling them to.
ICE is also targeting off duty hogs, there's plenty of justification for swine on swine violence

I wonder if "above the fold" is a bit on the obscure side. Bluesky libs sometimes use it with a photo of their copy of the newspaper as if physical newspapers matter.
Above the fold is the upper half of the front page of a newspaper or tabloid where an important news story or photograph is often located.
