Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Ahahahaha no it-the fuck- is not.

[–] laranis@lemmy.zip 6 points 4 hours ago

This man has the attention span of an ADHD cocker spaniel. There's no way in hell he will continue caring about this for more than a couple of weeks.

He's trying to apply "Art of the Deal" logic to geopolitics. "Just a little bomb-bomb. Just a little pressure on the Muslim brown people. Then we'll stop and they'll give us what we want. That's how business works. I'm the greatest businessman I've ever known, some people say." People dying for generations to come is just part of the game for these pedophilic narcissist fucktards.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 10 points 12 hours ago

oh. same as last week then.

[–] lemmy_outta_here@lemmy.world 10 points 12 hours ago

With their nuclear capability ‘completely obliterated’ for the second time this year, Iran is now three weeks away from a bomb. Whew, world saved /s.

On the other hand, we can start talking about Trump-Epstein again - especially since the dow is well under 50k.

[–] PrettyFlyForAFatGuy@feddit.uk 20 points 16 hours ago

you can start a war on your own, but pretty sure both sides have to agree to end a war.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 8 points 15 hours ago

War on/off is the same grift as tariffs on/off. His buddies know the status before anyone else and get richer on markets.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 5 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

So he does actually have war goals, and is about to achieve them? Might people hear what those goals actually were?

[–] vane@lemmy.world 6 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

it was oil forex scam, war pretty much ended yesterday

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

That is probably one of the reasons. But will Netanyahu let Trump just go home? I mean, for Netanyahu, Trump is just a convenient and cheap way to bomb his arch enemy to oblivion, while saving loads of money and spreading the international disdain.

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

I think a major part of the goal for starting a fight over Iran is to provide funding for DHS since there's a budget fight over it.

The... man who lies with every breath. People are trusting what he claims!?

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 36 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He doesn't lie, he lives in a narcissistic delusion. With his brain melted, he's actually terrible at lying... Watch him talk about the Epstein files, he goes stiff like he forgets how to move his body

[–] cutemarshmallow@europe.pub 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Finally, someone said it. He's too honest for his own good. He doesn't lie; the people around him do. He just repeats what he's told and what he believes. He flipflops his opinions and plans every 2 seconds because that's how long it takes to convince him or a new idea. He doesn't have the mental capacity to lie.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 8 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe not anymore, but he used to lie like it was going out of style. If his brain wasn't mush, he would be lying. Now he just repeats whatever the nearest person to him has said.

[–] cutemarshmallow@europe.pub 2 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

That's true. I was more so talking about his current term. The cognitive decline is insane.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago

Yup, I honestly can't believe he hasn't been removed from office over it. This makes Reagon's Alzheimers diagnosis look mild in comparison.

[–] MisterNeon@lemmy.world 230 points 1 day ago (11 children)

Something... something... History rhymes. My country is so fucking stupid:

[–] chahn.chris@piefed.social 109 points 1 day ago (16 children)

No kidding, my entire life all I’ve seen is republican presidents take us into stupid ass wars.

Why does anybody believe any of these people when they say they want to keep us out of wars?

[–] Ohmmy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

They've dragged the US government into 38 trillion dollars in dept dropping nearly a trillion dollars a year into the military industrial complex without an ability to pass an audit. Soon the largest expenditure in the US federal discretionary budget will be paying interest on on debts taken to feed that beast. But forgiving student loans and providing healthcare... we can't afford that.

[–] chahn.chris@piefed.social 3 points 12 hours ago

Yea dude, the we can’t afford healthcare is an ubsolute lie.

They want to keep us dependent on working for healthcare because they want their slave population to stay quiet.

At some point if people want healthcare or anything else they are frankly entitled to people need to rise up and fight for it.

Did oil price go so bad?

[–] PowerCrazy@lemmy.ml 21 points 1 day ago (5 children)

I guess one of the advantages of having literally zero plans other then "kill the current bad guy" is that you can just stop whenever you want and declare victory.

[–] nova_ad_vitum@lemmy.ca 3 points 13 hours ago

The Ayatollah's son who just took over is known for being even more of a hardliner (good luck Iranian protesters) AND the US and Israel just killed his both of his parents and his wife. So yeah definitely much victory, much win.

[–] Aceticon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 15 hours ago

He's like a fucking chihuahua that barks at a random passerby on the street and then celebrates his "victory of making them leave" when that person simply doesn't give a shit and keeps walking.

The Party said that Oceania had never been in alliance with Eurasia. He, Winston Smith, knew that Oceania had been in alliance with Eurasia as short a time as four years ago. But where did that knowledge exist? Only in his own consciousness, which in any case must soon be annihilated. And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed -if all records told the same tale -- then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past,' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.' And yet the past, though of its nature alterable, never had been altered. Whatever was true now was true from everlasting to everlasting. It was quite simple. All that was needed was an unending series of victories over your own memory. 'Reality control', they called it: in Newspeak, 'doublethink'

[–] GameOverFlow@lemmy.zip 88 points 1 day ago (3 children)

So he has reached all his goals? Or did he forgett what he wanted to do? What is now with the eppstein files?

[–] FiniteBanjo@feddit.online 54 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If his goal was to take a nation on the verge of revolution and cement the dictatorship for another generation, radicalizing thousands, then mission accomplished.

I don't talk to my friends this casually.

If I said "very complete, pretty much" I'm pretty sure they'd bring me to the hospital for a stroke.

Someone has had a whinge to him about share prices.

Things are just getting started. He destabilised the region, and Iran doesn't have any reason to discipline tinge aggression now.

They can destroy a passing ship every few weeks with a $20k drone while the US spends 100s of millions a day just to be present.

I've always liked this one...

"We've murdered enough people to distract you from the Epstein files for a few months."
