People are talking about gas prices hitting magats hard because of their vote. Know what's hitting them harder? Diesel prices. Diesel for all of the coal rolling trucks. Diesel hit $5.50 a gallon here (for reference the now high for here gas prices are about $3.60).

Hey look, dipshit conservatives directly affecting our wallets, again.
They need to come to California. The lowest price I've seen in the last few days is $5.69 a gallon for regular, and $6.19 a gallon for premium. Makes me laugh a lot on my E-bike, while I cruise through rush hour traffic.

Are the pumps all covered in those "I did that" stickers?
They need to be.
On one hand I'm fully against plastering shit all over the place for someone making minimum wage to be stuck cleaning that garbage off the pumps, but on the other hand in some moments I crave the pettiness.
Remember, the higher quality plastic coated stickers peel off intact. It's the cheap shit that continues to tear and it's hard to get off.
Metal scrubby brillo pad and some hot water with pine-sol. Takes about 10 mins. But also...what gas stations are you going to that makes their employees do that? I've worked plenty of gas station jobs, and not one has ever made me scrape stickers off a pump. Wash em down, sure, but that's it.
But also, isn't the power of spreading anti-trump propaganda a good thing (I call it propaganda cause I don't know what else to call it) making it worth the little bit of the hassle?
Plus, I'd much rather take my time and scrape stickers off a pump than to deal with the idiotic customers. But that's just me.
You know what, you sold me.
Good. Now gimme money.
Is there a Trump version of it yet? I still occasionally see the Biden ones.
Yes, they have been all over Etsy for a while now.
I'd love if we as a society could just stop using the word "woke" for a while.
Cause at this point its basically just a nebulous buzzword that means anything dependent on where you sit on the political spectrum.
Yeah I was gonna say, wait, being a nazi pedophile is now 'woke'?
The word continues to just mean roughly 'politically bad', with specifics beyond that varying wildly from person to person.
This meme is using it ironically
And what would then be the non ironic usage?
I think you missed the joke.
High gas prices are a way of making renewable transition more profitable. Person posting is basically saying trump willingly increased the gas prices and that is kind of "woke".
I stumbled as well.
High gas prices are a way of making renewable transition more profitable.
While true, in my opinion, there is not enough context in the image itself to conclude the creator of the image was thinking about that.
They could easily just be lamenting high gas prices, because they love gas powered vehicles, and are just using 'woke' as 'politically bad'.
Sure bro, you're so waked.
I use it derisively when characterizing the people who otherwise use it derisively
As usual, I'm left wishing I had the money for an EV.
Yes, ideally I'd rather be able to use my bicycle and cargo trailer for shopping and public transit for work, but thats literally nonexistent.
Used EVs are cheap. Stick to the ones made after 2020 and they usually have a decent range and battery life. I’d avoid the classic Nissan Leaf since it uses an outdated charging port and poor battery temp regulation.
I find it amusing most people in the U.S. didn’t give a shit about anything Trump was doing until it raised gas prices for the big truck and SUVs they drive around.
Most people in the US?
…30% is most of us?
Opposition to the war is at 53%, support is at 40% with the rest seemingly being ambivalent. . So 47% are fine with the war / don't care, not a majority but still a concerningly large chunk of the population.
I have never been more sure that the rest of the world is exactly as clueless about the US as those same people think the average american is clueless about the rest of the world
Complaining on social media does not count
Stop saying 30%, majority vote is majority vote. It's statistically valid sampling. If within the sample (those that voted), majority voted one way, means the population leans that way.
Majority vote 2 years ago is vastly different from what the current poles show.
Did you just sleep through the 2025 and 2026 elections (so far)?
You know, the ones where Donald is losing districts he won by double digits in 2024.
It's pretty clear, objectively, that most people don't like what Donald is doing and the gas prices have nothing to do with it. I'd argue it's reflective of the fact that people didn't necessarily want Donald, they wanted change, any change, from an abundantly shitty Biden presidency that left them significantly poorer.
Apparently I live in one of the highest gas price places in the world. We're at $5 a gallon already. Do you want to update your meme? I can take a photo.
in the world
Gas prices are so much lower here than most of Europe
Laughs in italian gas prices: we are at 2€/lt.
1gal equals 3.78 lts. Do the math...
I'm so happy with my EV.
5€/gal would mean 1.32€/lt. I don't remember seeing gas that cheap in the last 10 years at least.
€2/liter is $8.77/gallon.
We are built on car transportation. Some people I know drive 2 hours to get to work in vehicles that average 15 miles per gallon (6.38 kmpl). At 50¢/mile it would be a national emergency.
Edit, I think these people are full of it and only quote the longest times to get home on the very worst days. I'm betting they take a little more than an hour to get there.
Same in France 🫤
Go for it, unless having a lower bar for the prices better future-proofs the caption
I'm 2 blocks away I'll take the photo in 10 hours if you think anyone will care. Probably better photos on the news.
Jesus Christ, I will never understand how any of you think it's clever and funny to joke about food staples becoming cost-prohibitive.
It explains why the people you elected tried to stop Mamdani.
No wonder you keep losing elections. You keep telling people whose votes you need that you're pretty okay with their starvation.
