“The fire department must have been freaked out when the reports kept coming in closer and closer to the station.”

The call was coming from inside the station!

[–] ThePyroPython@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I can see the logic used here, he came literally to the wrong conclusion but it's a funny story since no-one got injured and it's a gift to the fire service's public outreach department to educate people on what not to do.

[–] Krauerking@lemy.lol 23 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh, yeah this is great cause it went about as well as it possibly could have while being absolutely ridiculous.

But he drove his Fire Truck to the station. Can see where he thought that was right but somehow was really really wrong.

[–] ThePyroPython@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

"Hmm I'm on fire, let's get to the 'shop' where they put out fires as quick as possible!"

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah the entire time I was thinking... I wonder if the fire would have went out by now if he just stopped fanning the flames

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

It wouldn't. It's a food-truck, it's full of flammable stuff.

[–] Krauerking@lemy.lol 19 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Do we have a community for unnecessary red circles?

For reference, the Japanese equivalent to the ice cream truck blasting music to attract kids is the roasted sweet potato truck singing "yaki imo" which literally means "roasted potato". https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0_IwZxOfdk&pp=ygUOWWFraSBpbW8gdHJ1Y2s%3D
This one must have been some really heavy metal style.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Roasted sweet potato . And it's a strangely haunting-sounding song. I always loved hearing it despite not liking sweet potatoes.

[–] Vedlt@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I really dislike anything sweet potato, but, at least to me, yaki imo is really good.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 1 points 1 week ago

It smells wonderful.

[–] fahfahfahfah@lemmy.billiam.net 13 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Seems like a great way to spread the fire across the city!

[–] Krauerking@lemy.lol 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He was leaving treats for all the cold boys and girls in the form of FLAMING POTATOES! So the spreading is really a gift if you think about it.

[–] Bratosch@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Irish Santa Claus!

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 1 points 1 week ago

Its a firetruck, they use them to stop fire not spread it.

Okay but if Starfleet had a purple uniform tunic then what division would it be for?!

[–] jqubed@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

It’s like driving your car to the nearest mechanic when it breaks down! “So, how soon can you take a look at it?”

[–] gibmiser@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

no better use for the phrase - IM COMMING IN HOT!

[–] Gork@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 week ago

I'm just going to put this over there with the rest of the fire.

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@thelemmy.club 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Was I lied to moments before or is this a really tragic story?

[–] Krauerking@lemy.lol 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Its really a shame. These were all really just sweet potatoes.

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@thelemmy.club 6 points 1 week ago

Those poor sweet (very) hot potatoes.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 8 points 1 week ago

Baked potatoes for all the firemen 😃

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 5 points 1 week ago

Someone in the council is getting a strongly worded letter that people these days don't respect the laws of physics

[–] DudeImMacGyver@kbin.earth 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

[–] FuyuhikoDate@feddit.org 3 points 1 week ago

"Sir, sir our truck is on fire!!"

"Gimme your coordination I call the fire department!"

"We can't do that... They already have a lot to do... I have a better idea!"

initial d Music starts

[–] Skyrmir@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

"The fuck did I just see driving past my shop?!?!"

"Hey, Han lee, check this shit out!"

What is wild is that you link actually still works for me. Maybe a regional thing?

They just copied SoraNews so try this https://soranews24.com/2026/03/16/japanese-man-drives-truck-thats-on-fire-directly-to-fire-station-drops-flaming-potatoesvideos/

[–] tuxiqae@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago

I don't think that it's a regional thing, just the way the URL encoding is parsed

Your links seems to work fine, thanks :)

Literally "coming in hot"
