A single 100 is cash reserve, anything above is suspicious. That 250er bill Trump plans is only good for drug dealing, money laundring, and tax evasion, so putting his pig face on it is just fitting.

I would use 100's if anyplace took them and even 50's are iffy. Only the smallest of purchases are below 20 nowadays.
Most places do cash drops if the register is over $100. Leaving about(under) $100 in the register at any time.
Chances of breaking a hundred for a BIC not likely.
Chances of breaking a 50 on a 6 pack, likely. Especially with a pack of smokes. There's only supposed to be a couple 20s in the til. Shift timing matters. Best chance: it's end of shift with an employee too busy or lazy to make drops. Also the best time to rob the store.
Fitty
You got tree fitty?
usually carry around $500 on me.
couple hundreds, some fifties, twenties, and whatever else from change.
I tend to carry a $100, a $50, and some small bills. That's enough to cover most purchases or small emergencies I might encounter. If I get robbed and I'm out $200, I will be irritated, I will likely vow vengeance and mumble about my revenge for a week or two, but it will be okay.
Just don't be the asshole going to the store first thing in the morning for a $5 item and paying for it with that $100 bill. I still have nightmares about them.
$20s. Anything higher, some places might not want to give change for them unless you're paying an amount close to the denomination of the bill.
$20. Too many places won't take anything higher (and I don't blame them one bit. I got $120 from an ATM once, and specifically told it to give me jacksons--and it gave me a $20 and a benjamin. I was, like, what the fuck am I going to do with this? I was going to take it to the bank when it was open and have a teller break it, but fortunately the customer service desk at the grocery store was able to break it). And i keep a bunch of singles for tips.
I like to give out $2 bills for tips. People always get kinda excited when they get them.
I was giving a colleague Sacajawea dollars to put under her kid's pillow for lost teeth. The kid thought they were awesome.
Most places won’t take higher than a $20, so on the rarest occasions that I do carry cash, that’s it. Trivia: $50s are considered bad luck in Vegas, so don’t be handing those out.
Do you live in Vegas?
I have a friend who was a card dealer.
I wonder how that happened.
$20, I can’t even remember the last time I saw a $50
The only places I know of in my neck of the woods that accept bills larger than a $20 are the weed dispensaries, and that's just because they are only allowed to accept cash.
Thats funny because I was going to say "$100 bills" because that's what I used at the dispensary just a few hours ago.
The ATM typically gives $20s, so that's what I usually get.
The ATM gives $50s, so I use those, but I prefer $20s as they are taken anywhere.
I've had a $45 bill and them tell me they can't take a fifty.
Typically I use $20s but 50 and 100 have been used.
I do a lot of Marketplace/Craigslist deals so in terms of total cash volume I probably handle $100 the most.
Day to day it's $20 and $5. Getting places to break a $50 is hard.
$20, but to be fair it was the same 30 years ago. Today, that's worth almost $50, so places really shouldn't have trouble breaking a 50
I don't use much cash, so I end up with 20s from the ATM when I do need cash. When I receive cash it's usually other people's ATM 20s or hundreds they can't get rid of. I hang on to the hundreds until it's time to pay my piano teacher.
How good is this piano teacher?
She is good, but it's for like 2 or 3 months, not each lesson 😄
You see human beings have this problem, they tend to die without food or when forced to live out in the elements. And dont get me started on clothing and healthcare.
It is her sole occupation so it does need to cover everything! Support the arts, people!
$20. Only thing I regularly use cash for these days is weed and haircuts.
Well on my last trip I was using 500's for most purchases. I felt like a rich man. However I was an American in Mexico using local currency. I had quite a few US 100's when I got there that was used to pay for my diving and lodging.
When I was in Jamaica it was mostly 1000's.
In the US it's usually 20's when I have cash because that is what the ATM's around here tend to give.
We just got some Yen for an upcoming trip to Japan and its the first time I've ever handled a 10,000 bill. Pesos are like 20:1 while Yen is around 250:1
Yeah, JMD is about 100:1 so it was actually really easy. I took a picture with 20,000 in Jamaica and sent that back to some people I knew. Made it look impressive but in reality only about 200 bucks.
Most to least used $20, $50, $5, $10, $100
Hondos. I'm a waitress and have to break one multiple times a week. I usually save them up to use at music festivals.
I usually save them up to use at music festivals.
Basically two mixed drinks with nothing left for tip at any typical Insomniac festival.
Two albums and a T-shirt.
$500. Pesos. When I'm in Mexico
$100uad in the states, though. I almost never withdrawl except to pay for a cash only fb marketplace seller.
