He wasn't assassinated. He was just shot in a school shooting is all.

[–] BillyClark@piefed.social 41 points 12 hours ago

Wasn't her own husband assassinated in broad daylight on American soil under President Trump?

Counterpoint: America is probably slightly safer without Charlie Kirk's rhetoric.

The party of 1984. They couldn’t possibly adhere to it any closer.

In this way every prediction made by the Party could be shown by documentary evidence to have been correct, nor was any item of news, or any expression of opinion, which conflicted with the needs of the moment, ever allowed to remain on record. All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary.

Orwell, 1984

They just make shit up like what actually happened or what they said before never existed.

Shit, this was the picture I was looking for but couldn’t find.

[–] rustyfish@piefed.world 101 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Interesting thing to say about Europe. Let’s see what your husband has to say about this.

You need a Luigi board to communcate with murdered assholes.

[–] ALoafOfBread@lemmy.ml 42 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

"Counting or not counting gang violence?"

Pro life hypocrite

[–] jtrek@startrek.website 64 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

They really just say whatever in pursuit of their goals. Conservatives should not be taken seriously. They're dishonest, cognitive hazards.

[–] ThunderComplex@lemmy.today 13 points 15 hours ago (3 children)

Im sorry to uhm akschually you but a cognitive hazard is anything that’s dangerous when perceived with (at least) one of the senses (I.e. upon seeing something),
but this is actually a infohazard, something that’s only dangerous upon being understood (like a instruction manual on how to build a bomb, which wouldn’t bee dangerous in the hands of a fish for example)

[–] jtrek@startrek.website 10 points 15 hours ago

Technically correct, the best kind of correct.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

Eh, he was kinda right the first time: the less capable you are at critical thinking (I.e. understanding what they're actually doing), the more vulnerable you are to their bullshit.

[–] fizzle@quokk.au 12 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

Yeah but obviously a bunch of people just lap this stuff up.

[–] whotookkarl@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 15 hours ago

Once you buy into the cult a whole bunch of cognitive biases & fallacies kick in to keep you in; sunk cost, conservativism bias, false consensus, confirmation bias, anchoring, etc they get all the falluses

[–] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world 4 points 15 hours ago

Mostly Faux News Red Hats.

[–] Axolotl_cpp@feddit.it 2 points 15 hours ago

Cognitive hazard? Someone should Secure and Contain them to Protect normal people

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 45 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

Just the other day I was shot while advocating for increased gun violence.

[–] WhyIHateTheInternet@lemmy.world 7 points 16 hours ago

Good for you! Keep up the good fight and stuff

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 4 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

Did some random person claim that he shot you? Then after he was arrested they found out he didn't shoot you, but he had pedo porn on his laptop so they arrested him for that. I don't know what's real anymore.

[–] tempest@lemmy.ca 2 points 13 hours ago

I don't think he was advocating for it. It was more of a disingenuous 'we've tried nothing and are all out of ideas'.

I personally think that is worse.

[–] shittydwarf@piefed.ca 11 points 12 hours ago

By a trump voter no less

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 12 points 13 hours ago (4 children)

Why does the MAGA movement have those idiot blondes everywhere? The white house press bitch, Mrs. Kirk,...

[–] porous_grey_matter@lemmy.ml 10 points 12 hours ago

Obviously it's more complicated than only this one thing, but the most compelling theory I've heard about it basically goes: if you want to be a prominent woman in the maga movement you have to prove that you accept that you are inferior and not threatening to the men, by playing up this extreme and debasing kind of hyper femininity. In Bed with the Right has a great episode about this and some related ideas.

[–] tocopherol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

Intelligent independent women wouldn't support MAGA, and they promote the blonde white women because they are white-supremacists.

[–] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

I'm perpetually surprised that the hot chick on Gutfeld! is a brunette.

[–] VeryInterestingTable@jlai.lu 16 points 14 hours ago

EuRoPe Is NoT sAfE!

Meanwhile in the USA: I need to own a gun to defend myself!

[–] Amberskin@europe.pub 7 points 12 hours ago

Oh, please, don’t pollute our continent with your presence!

[–] Shellofbiomatter@lemmus.org 39 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Yes of course it has. Trust me, I'm here. No need to confirm yourself. There are criminals everywhere. Just trust me.

[–] marxismtomorrow@lemmy.today 16 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago) (1 children)

See you'd think that'd work, but the US kidnapped the democratically elected Venezuelan president while committing horrific war crimes that if any other country did it the US would immediately invade for doing, all over the fact 'the country was full of criminals.'

So really ErCIA Kirk is just laying the propaganda framework for an invasion of Europe by the US.

[–] DokPsy@lemmy.world 8 points 17 hours ago

The problem is that the pretense doesn't even have to actually have any basis in reality

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 9 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2010/jan/08/rudy-giuliani/giuliani-says-there-were-no-domestic-attacks-durin/

Rudy Giuliani literally siad there were no terrorist attacks on the US while George W Bush was President.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 5 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

What's he up to these days, anyway? Has the black ichor that used to be his brain finished leaking out of his head yet?

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 2 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Let him fester in ignominy

[–] grue@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

Yeah, you're right, that's the best thing.

Still, I got curious and looked it up: the most notable things lately were that he got disbarred two years ago, got injured in a car wreck last year, and had a bad case of pneumonia last month (unfortunately, he apparently recovered).

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 12 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

Wasn't it even a trump supporter? They don't talk about that much.

[–] NottaLottaOcelot@lemmy.ca 10 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Given how ecstatic she seems since he’s gone, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it turns out that she was involved.

[–] optimisticturtle@lemmy.world 3 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

I entertain this idea but also possibly him being a domineering asshole and now she's free of him like Melania will probably be when the Big Beautiful Day comes.

There was a ton of conjecture either way about it at the time. I'd go and look at the wiki about it because it's genuinely a bit of a weird situation.

[–] Flower@sh.itjust.works 4 points 12 hours ago

They really don't like the Europe since it went "apes together strong" and even more since USA did the classic "my way or the highway" and EU pulled out a map to find the nearest highway. Now they need to blast it any chance they get.

[–] Korhaka@sopuli.xyz 4 points 15 hours ago

Well she is safer now that he can't beat her anymore.
