Bullshit. Canada is further left than the majority of EU members.

Left wing causes like legal weed, reducing tax breaks for foreign real estate investment, QC/BC as a voting block, the country as a whole also tends towards Western European ideals of stability and living conditions. Canada’s public transit is usable despite having the absolute worst winters of any EU country, with places like Winnipeg being as harsh as Siberia. Canada will never be as left wing as Malta, Portugal, or Barcelona, but there’s no need to make that the expectation for EU membership.
