This was a mental health crisis brought on by transphobia based on my reading.
Last trans shooter was a trans man and his shooting was brought on because he was a victim of sexual abuse and a cover up in a catholic school.
Only about 5 trans shooters since we started tracking, >90% men, <9% women, <1% trans.
Violence is the language spoken by the unheard. I do not excuse the shooters, but understand they are victims of their own material conditions.
We need to do better.
I agree. Violence is a societal issue, not an identity one.
The sooner we realise this, the better. Regardless of who you are, what your background is, what extreme things you are exposed to -- you do not go out and kill a bunch of innocent people unless there is something significantly wrong with your mental state.
