When the going gets tough, or even mildly inconvenient, liberals will always side with fascism instead of "the left" (NOTE: the left includes the concept of basic human rights).

Carney is NOT a liberal in anything other than name. He is Harper in a shell with paint. Were the conservatives more similar to how they were in the 80s (ie: red Tories, and not batshit insane) I am confident that Carney would be under that tent. That today's right of aisle parties come with a mandatory helping of ignorance and racism rather precludes anyone with an ounce of policy sense from working with them. That plus Overton window stuff = Carney's "liberals" are basically center right.
