Why Fast and Furious? Because I am an evil dictator and I noticed if a post has a big picture in it it gets more votes very-smart

We're looking for mods, our goal is to have a huge mod team in order to spread handling transphobia out among a lot of people so that we don't have burnout.

Generally speaking, if you have someone that can vouch for you, new accounts are welcome, just DM me that info. Generally, we look for people with a decent amount of activity so we can squash transphobia before anyone else sees it. Beyond those two notes, the only requirement is that you're trans or gender diverse! We definitely want to add people from different countries, backgrounds, gender experiences, and so on even if you don't have a whole lot of time to mod, input on what we're doing is still valuable.

Speaking of Fast and Furious, I believe Fast & Furious Crossroads has one of the first non-binary protagonists in a real world setting. Unfortunately, the game is pretty ass, so it's not worth playing. trans-sad

What does modding entail here? Do you "just" comb the New stuff and keep an eye on reports, or are there more processes?

How much time do you spend? Are there particular times of day / days of week that you need more help than others?

Do you have any interest in cis mods?

My kid is trans, but I am not. I don't think he's on Hexbear, but it seems like helping catch the transphobia before it hurts anyone else is a caring thing I could do for his community at large.

First off, I'd kill to have a parent like you, thats cool as hell

Second, it is a little more complicated than that, sometimes we have some borderline comments that we discuss (things like internalized transphobia that has been externalized), so lived experience comes into play with how we mod stuff like that. Usually any sort of blatant and obvious transphobia is helped with by the admins, so I'd say if you wanted to help with that, gun for some interest comms and eventually get added as an admin. Sometimes we also get contacted by people to help them with trans resources, too, but that could be something a parent knows about 🤔

I really appreciate the application though, maybe there is a space for us to make a comm for allies, instructional materials on how to help queer and trans people, that sort of thing? You'd be a huge shoe in for that. Theres a lot of times where it gets exhausting as trans people to advocate for ourselves, good to tap someone else in.

Just because you're mods of our only good comm doesn't mean you are less of a lib then the rest of the mods.

I'd be interested in modding this community. I am trans/gender-non-conforming and I have the advantage of being in the Oceania time zone! Hopefully my post history speaks for itself about me being a good person. I have always been a staunch follower of TC69 thought.

What about transenby_liberation and the LGBTQ communities (heh) on here, do they need mods too? Is there any overlap with the traa mods?

Theres some overlap but I'm not sure if they need it, we have a ton of activity so thats part of why I want to keep on it, plus I feel like its good to get a lot of people involved so its not cliquey

I'd be interested in modding this community. I'm non-binary, and I'm a fairly active hexbear. My time zone/country probably isn't very unique though, but my terrible sleep schedule means that doesn't matter too much. Can't wait to start enforcing TC69 thought!

I also mod c/fashion, but I haven't gotten a single report and all of the conversation is reasonable. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute something more here.

I might be able to help, but I’m not nearly as online as most. I’ve been on this site since 2020, but deleted my original account as it was essentially an internet deadname and wanted it gone. You can probably connect me due to avatars.

I’ve modded way more than I care to admit back when I was on Reddit, so I can say that I’m not the best at the job. However, I do want to help this comm because it has been a fantastic safe space since its inception and has been really friendly to me.

i keep putting one foot in and almost modding some community but then end up super busy with work/exhausted and feel like i'd be kind of useless as a fair weather mod.

things should be slowing down at work since i'm no longer in management. i should be able to be kind of useful?
