It seems pretty, but I am not sure I would enjoy it getting in my shorts ..

[-] dbx12@programming.dev 74 points 2 months ago

You wouldn't enjoy regular sand either. It's coarse and rough and gets everywhere.

[-] sukhmel@programming.dev 13 points 2 months ago

But at least it's not spiky coarse

[-] whereBeWaldo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 months ago

It annoys not just the men but women and children too

Even walking barefoot seems like it would be painful!

And technically there are even larger individual cells, such as adipocytes or myocytes.

[-] chuckleslord@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

Ostrich eggs. Single cell, though different since it's a haploid cell.

Walking barefoot is better or worse than walking on LEGO pieces?

[-] jBlight@lemmy.world 20 points 2 months ago

Might be a silly question from me, but I have no experience with that type of sand. Does it hurt when you run your hand through it or grab it? How fragile or tough are those pieces of sand?

[-] Worx@lemmynsfw.com 10 points 2 months ago

Can't be that fragile else the waves would have destroyed them long ago

[-] zloubida@lemmy.world 17 points 2 months ago

That makes me strangely uncomfortable.

"Hoshi-zuna no Hama" (星砂の浜) literally means "Star-sand Beach"

Taketomi Island. Very chill, really beautiful place. Would love to visit again.
