that is half food coloring

[-] sovietknuckles@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

Doesn't most red food coloring give you cancer?

[-] Cummunism@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

im not sure, but wouldnt surprise me. I remember hearing it being attributed to behavioral problems in children.

[-] LocalOaf@hexbear.net 22 points 2 months ago

Buddy... just get some decent mac&cheese and a bottle of hot sauce ohnoes blob-on-fire

[-] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 10 points 2 months ago

Cholula is very yum yum on mac n cheese.

[-] LocalOaf@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago

That and Tapatio are my go tos meow-fiesta

I know they're basic but they get the job done and becoming a "hot sauce enthusiast" sounds annoying and expensive

[-] FearsomeJoeandmac@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago

Will you please post that maracas cat emoji one more time

[-] LocalOaf@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago

Only because you asked nicely meow-fiesta

[-] Feinsteins_Ghost@hexbear.net 21 points 2 months ago

Oh Jesus dude

[-] Abracadaniel@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago

that is not food it is a food product

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 14 points 2 months ago

oof can feel the heartburn from this.

[-] FearsomeJoeandmac@hexbear.net 13 points 2 months ago

Yeah no kidding man. its tasty but its terrible for you and you pay the toll afterwards

[-] LocalOaf@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

Gotta pay the burn toll if you're gonna eat from the spice hole

[-] Tiocfaidhcaisarla@hexbear.net 14 points 2 months ago

I remember this being shared in the early days of hexbear accompanied with the statement "this wouldn't exist if the Soviet Union hadn't collapsed"

[-] miz@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

my eye twitches every time I hear "collapse" because it was sieged and undemocratically dissolved

[-] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 13 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I feel like it would be both easier and better to just make regular mac n cheese but crush up flamin' hot cheetos to sprinkle on top

[-] Findom_DeLuise@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

Or have your neckbeard roommate dip his cheeto dust fingers in your mac and cheese and swirl them around a few times for flavoring. Just be careful not to get those Xbox controller sweat/skin flake globules in there too, or else it might taste a little gamey.

[-] FearsomeJoeandmac@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

Jesus christ you tried to be as gross as you could with this

[-] KurtVonnegut@hexbear.net 11 points 2 months ago

Outside of the United States of Burgerland, this is not considered food, it is considered a war crime committed against your small intestines. Please just make some regular pasta then slice up a chunk of actual cheddar cheese or even shredded cheese to throw into the pasta, it tastes so much better than powdered cheese, trust me.

[-] TheLepidopterists@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago

Actual cheddar cheese isn't flamin' hot so absolutely not

[-] gueybana@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

If you’re going to go through all that trouble actually make the roux becuase just sticking a block of cheddar is going to leave you wanting an actual mac and cheese and not pasta with cheese.

So we circle back to just making this amazing delicacy which let’s be fair probably tastes bomb

[-] HumanBehaviorByBjork@hexbear.net 11 points 2 months ago

i have had so many foods that are just baked corn with chili powder and citric acid on it and my anus is stronger for it

[-] QuillcrestFalconer@hexbear.net 11 points 2 months ago

Looks radioactive. I'm not touching that

[-] FearsomeJoeandmac@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

IKR? even though we may die 5 years earlier from eating toxic crap

[-] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 10 points 2 months ago

All of the Cheetos Mac and Cheeses are awful

The cheddar jalapeño one gave me the scoots

Flaming Hot just didn't taste good

Regular cheese tasted like forts

Wouldn't touch the cheesy bacon one with ten foot touching pole

[-] brainw0rms@hexbear.net 10 points 2 months ago

as an enjoyer of various brands of easy mac (which are bad enough on their own) i would not even consider eating this. looks like colon cancer in a 160g box

[-] Mindfury@hexbear.net 10 points 2 months ago
[-] Mindfury@hexbear.net 11 points 2 months ago

mfw no perc 30 easy mac sadness

[-] abc@hexbear.net 9 points 2 months ago

i don't think any of the flaming hot stuff tastes good and i am a spice freak. woe upon all flaming hot branding crossover in the last 5-6 years. miss when brands would actually TRY smh. bring back the third degree doritos get rid of the fucking flaming hot ones.

[-] GlueBear@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago

Takis are some of the few spicy chips that actually taste good.

Just get the purple bag

[-] somename@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

It’s also an actual Mexican snack food brand

[-] OptimusSubprime@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

It'd be easier to make mac n cheese and add gochugaru and/or gochujang, I think.

Same effect, but healthier. shrug-outta-hecks

[-] BGDelirium@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago

Tried this once and it tasted God awful.

Just eat normal Kraft Mac and cheese and hot Cheetos separately and call it a day

[-] blindbunny@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago

Lame I prefer to break up my hot Cheetos in Velveeta mac and cheese you know so it's healthier.

[-] peeonyou@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago

it's almost like some execs got together and tried to come up with the least healthy most cancer-causing processed crap they could

[-] Wisp@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

No but the Jalapeno Cheetos Mac is actually pretty decent. Which makes sense since the jalapeno Cheetos are the best ones

[-] bender223@lemmy.today 6 points 2 months ago

I'd eat that 😋

[-] ColonelKataffy@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

i love hot cheetos and mac cheese, but this was bad at being both. don't bother

[-] ped_xing@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago

I eat 95% of the garbage the six companies that control the center aisles of supermarkets put out and . . . that shit can stay on the shelf. I have a line.

[-] Findom_DeLuise@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago

Ah, sweet! Manmade horrors beyond my comprehension.

[-] oscardejarjayes@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago

mmmmmmm

(i would neve eat that)

[-] CocteauChameleons@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Ive eaten the regular one, the four cheese, and the flamin hot one. I loved each one

[-] john_browns_beard@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago

This is like Buldak carbonara except bad

[-] ashinadash@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago

Spicy macaroni is an odd idea, could just make normal mac spicyish with like, curry powder, chili powder though?

[-] MaxOS@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

I saw this at the 99 cent store once and almost bought it

[-] TheBroodian@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

The red box is, in my opinion, "trying too hard" for lack of a better term. The green box is absolutely delicious though. 10/10 mac and cheese, the green box.

[-] Taster_Of_Treats@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

The flavor was not that good TBH. But what stood out to me even more was that the coloring looks even more surreal and unnatural in person. It’s otherworldly. There is no way to convince yourself that it is food when you’re looking at that color.
