My favorite part of the video is that Trump keeps trying to do this stupid fucking power move where he gives a firm handshake and refuses to let go. Newsom was ready for it and Trump had to forcibly pull his hand away.

Edit: Sorry for not being clear. There is a link to a tweet in the article that has the video.

Are Melania and the officer behind her slightly leaning too? I can't tell if it's an optical illusion or some coordinated effort to hide Trump's real lean by matching him.

[-] Demdaru@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Officer I dunno, but Melania is standing straight with one leg behind her. Look at the other leg - the on in the back of the photo. It's straight.

For once, I'd love to see someone crush his little hand when he tries that shit. It is such a childish and dickish move.

I remember when assholes would try that kind of thing in elementary school. Some people - like donvict - never grow the hell up.

It takes a long time for cracked metacarpals to heal.

[-] HawlSera@lemm.ee 7 points 6 days ago

Why is Trump falling ontop of him?

[-] henfredemars@infosec.pub 110 points 1 week ago

What’s up with the weird lean?

[-] MegaUltraChicken@lemmy.world 165 points 1 week ago

That's what happens when you wear giant lifts in your shoes because you're a little bitch obsessed about your height.

[-] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 62 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Lots of people wear heals all the time and don't lean forward like this. Something is wrong with Trumps health, and they're hiding it.

Something is wrong with Trumps health, and they're hiding it.

Every time I see him, he looks more and more like a gas station hotdog that's been on the rollers since 1979. I don't think they're hiding shit.

[-] Soulg@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 days ago

Correct, nothing is hidden, his voters just don't care.

[-] HawlSera@lemm.ee 1 points 6 days ago

Don't you think he looks tired?

[-] futatorius@lemm.ee 1 points 6 days ago

That's after everything they've done to hide it.

[-] takeda@lemm.ee 38 points 1 week ago

Maybe, but he was doing that in his first term too.

He has the stance of the front half of a centaur. It’s kinda hilarious, and you can’t un-see that.

lord diaper does that because of the lifts in his shoes and to try to hide his outa shape, berder-filled gut

[-] MothmanDelorian@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

No, it is a sign of dementia.

[-] OutlierBlue@lemmy.ca 47 points 1 week ago

He does it to try and hide his girthy belly. He thinks it makes him look more powerful. But like everything he does, it just makes him look weak and pathetic.

He does it a lot, actually. I'm fairly convinced it's a sign that he has a disorder of some sort as discussed in this salon article from 2020.

"While most frequently observed in Parkinson's Disease, the bent posture so evident in Trump may also be seen in Alzheimer's Dementia, movement disorders of the basal ganglia, and as the side effect of certain medications," Cytowic continued. "Also noted are the sudden, jerking movements of Trump's right arm. Since they occur only on one side, the prefix "hemi" is applied, while "ballistic" means sudden or flinging in the manner of a projectile. Trump's hemiballistic arm movements are evident in news clips from Memorial Day (also here via C-Span) at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, as are his uncontrolled swaying and forward tilt. He is seen to grab his wayward arm with the left one in an effort to keep it under control."

Youtube video here. You can see he stands with the same kind of lean (starting about 0:30) and keeps wobbling the whole time. The wobble gets very pronounced after he walks up to the wreath (around the 2:15 mark). As for the arm movements described above, you can see some good examples starting after the 4:15 mark. There's also an earlier point at the 2:28 mark where you can see him suddenly clench his left hand on his right wrist as if to hold it in place.

I really think the man is not well and he is basically a puppet for the far-right and all those billionaires.

I don't see the video about handshake in the article, so here is one I found: https://youtu.be/qn7q0k1yY3s

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

It'd be funny if someone were to just mash his hand downward with their other hand when he's doing that stupid handshake game of his.

That fucking lean is crazy

[-] estranho@lemmy.ca 32 points 1 week ago

The only way he could be leaning that far forward is if his center of gravity is much lower and further back than his massive gut. The only way I can think that he's could achieve this is with a MASSIVE titanium butt plug shoved up his ass. I'm talking like 80+ pounds.

[-] RvTV95XBeo@sh.itjust.works 24 points 6 days ago

Titanium feels like a poor choice if you're trying to shift your center of gravity. Stainless steel would be better, or for this particular situation I'd probably recommend something even heavier like lead or uranium.

[-] recreationalcatheter@lemm.ee 7 points 6 days ago

Honestly this is likely the best reason Trump has to stop supplying Ukraine with depleted uranium for antitank munitions.

[-] lando55@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Maybe he likes having more material in there

I thought body language reading was a pseudoscience

[-] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

It's a real symptom of Dementia and Alzheimer's

But the nice thing about being right wing is moving the bar, nothing's real if you don't feel like it.

[-] MothmanDelorian@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Dementia is a much more likely cause

Haha.

Immediately reminded me of a photo of Eric Schmidt (former Google scumbag CEO who said that if you had nothing to hide, you had no privacy concerns) and Steve Jobs. They were photographed at a coffee shop and Schmidt was analyzed to be in the weaker position by body language.

But leaning forward in heals (Newsome is in sneakers) is what a strongman does, go trump! /s
