Ok, this subreddit might be cheating.

Progressive on Progressive violence.

Pure self flagellation.

I thought Canadians were supposed to be nice:

This one goes on for a while... What even IS democracy, anyway?

Spicy:

Sitting at the top of the most controversial post in the thread is Reddit's bravest soldier:

apr35 [Democrat]

My non-vote literally had no impact, clearly. If Trump won the presidency by one vote I guess I’d feel bad. But I live in a deep blue state, so it didn’t matter even more.

For me I felt more compelled to send a clear message that the Dems need to do better, and I wasn’t compelled that Kamala was better. It’s not my responsibility to blindly vote for the party and, as a result, be complicit with things I don’t support. I knew if Trump won (I figured he would), it would be the Dem party who was to blame.

And it seems I wasn’t alone, and those of us who sat out the vote were seen. My hope has always been it will be reflected upon and change will come as a result.

So no, I feel literally no responsibility for Trump winning.

These fucking clowns carry water for a party that LOST THE POPULAR VOTE for the first time in decades, and think it's our fault

Imagine doing all that unpaid labour for rich genocidal politicians and think "I should've done more" 💀

Holy shit 85% of those people are beyond hope. They are still unironically regurgitating "Bernie Bros ruined Hillary's turn" in the year of our lord 2025.

I called my Catholic priest and he tells me all these liberals will not need to go through purgatory, their endless self flagellation has already absolved them of sin.

[–] porcupine@lemmygrad.ml 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

is it really self flagellation when it’s a bunch of people personally convinced that they’re the only individual smart enough, wise enough, and morally righteous enough to understand that bad things only happen because everyone else failed mother?

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 13 points 2 days ago

Look at all the ones who sacrificed body and mind to get a genocidal lunatic elected and regret not sacrificing more.

I don't feel bad for not voting for Harris. She lost because she is a horrible candidate and probably the literal worst one that the Dems could have put against Trump. They fucked themselves. I do not feel bad for the most unlikeable candidate in their history losing against a person with a literal cult following. My vote was a freebie throwaway vote since I'm a communist living in Texas and I know how the Electoral College works. Sorry my one single solitary vote did not net the racist, zionist, transphobic, genocidal cop her precious girlboss victory. It was my vote that caused her to lose.

The real question is "Why didn't every single Democrat vote for the progressive candidate instead of the conservative girlboss ass larper?"

probably the literal worst one that the Dems could have put against Trump.

I feel like a second Hillary attempt would be worse, but only just.

It's Her Turn 2.0 in 2028 while Trump finishes destroying the country would be funny, ngl

As an independent in California, same. These people have no understanding of how voting works in the US.

That post is another example that liberals would kill themselves and everyone else surrounding them over embracing a different political ideology that can actually help them in the long run.

Damn, these democrats sure can't fail, but the people sure can fail them!
