Come on, be realistic! I can't do 90lbs of cheese if I'm going to also do 60lbs of meat and still have room for 30 gallons of chocolate milkshake and 58 pints of ice cream!

It's more like 75lbs of cheese.

At this rate, America and specifically the American diet is going to throw our planetary spin into an unsteady wobble due to the imbalanced weight of so many gigantic Americans living on one side of planet.

Maybe this is the reason why American expansionism was followed so forcefully in the past 50 years ... we need to distribute Americans throughout the planet to keep from unbalancing the weight of humanity over the globe.

Nah, you're forgetting about isostatic depression.

Well, you get the idea. I can never get gifs to work right.

You can't drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste them; they get converted to .png . You have to actually click the "upload image" button and choose the .gif file from the file picker dialog.

You can also use the modified link embedding markdown to embed gifs from elsewhere.

Fucking Door Salesmen

Cheese Georg sitting in his cave, heavily obese but still stuffing loafs of cheese in his face. He gotta pump up those numbers. Being a statistical outlier is a hard job!

[–] optional@piefed.social 14 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

ok, who is the one that is pumping the average up so much?

[–] twice_hatch@midwest.social 11 points 3 weeks ago

Cheeses Georg

[–] adhocfungus@midwest.social 3 points 3 weeks ago

Wisconsin. 90 lbs per day is a kid's ration there.

I'm Cheese Georg 😔

Stop listening to LLMS they are not always correct. The average American eats 42 lbs of cheese a year. Unless it has significantly gone up since last year.

[–] Jimmycakes@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

I ate 35 pounds of cheese for breakfast and another 45 pounds for lunch. Maybe YOU should stop listening to fake news. Everyone I know eats 50 to 70 pounds of course every day sometimes a little extra on the weekend for a cheat day.

[–] irish_link@lemmy.world 10 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

No no no, they have it all wrong.

90 pounds Sterling is what they are referencing. No that is about $120.

However you need to remember that cheese is a lot more expensive over there than it is here. 90 pounds (sterling) is about one frozen pizzas worth of cheese. And we all know on average Americans eat one frozen pizza a day.

[–] tpihkal@lemmy.world 8 points 3 weeks ago

I could never eat a frozen pizza every day. I like a little variety so I switch between pizza rolls, pepperoni Hot Pockets, and mini pizza bagels too!

[–] wagesj45@fedia.io 9 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

Europeans will believe this.

[–] ValiantDust@feddit.org 20 points 3 weeks ago

But not that this is cheese.

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 9 points 3 weeks ago

I'm European and I will believe this.

[–] SirQuack@feddit.nl 5 points 3 weeks ago

I'm European and I'll fight you if you say this is made up.

[–] YoiksAndAway@lemmy.zip 9 points 3 weeks ago

This is the cheddary death I yearn for.

[–] PennyRoyal@sh.itjust.works 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That’s the weight of 9 whole bald eagles

[–] zod000@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 weeks ago

The most universal American unit for weight.

[–] skysurfer@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

Let me sink into dat cheese.

[–] FilthyShrooms@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Ok I let the sink in, what now? How does this relate to my cheese?

[–] selkiesidhe@lemm.ee 3 points 3 weeks ago

As an average American, hell, I am way behind...

Gonna go make a dang quesadilla

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago
[–] Rusty@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

At least it's a real cheese and not Kraft singles

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world -1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

that's how you know it's BS, they don't eat that much cheese, they eat that much "cheese based food product"

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That yellow plastic being called "American cheese" is a stain on all the actually really good cheese that is made here.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

Sure. I'm originally from "Europe" more or less anyway and I'm sure specific region based cheeses that are of high quality are made in the US. We just never hear about Wisconsin... Bay or whatever cheese.

[–] Auth@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

The average american:

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 1 points 3 weeks ago
[–] bieren@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 weeks ago

That’s just one meal.

[–] OhioComrade@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 weeks ago

This is how we empty the cheese caves.

[–] xav@programming.dev -1 points 3 weeks ago

This is not cheese. Call it like you want, but not cheese please.
