A broken clock...

Happy that this particular lunatic is right on this particular issue.

[–] crank0271@lemmy.world 160 points 1 week ago (9 children)

I'm going to guess that Russia doesn't want us to enter the war.

[–] scytale@lemmy.zip 124 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Probably. Tucker Carlson is saying the same thing, so their handlers are telling them “nope, we don’t like that”.

[–] ApathyTree@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 1 week ago

Mmm I can’t wait to see the unintended consequences of that backpedaling.

God I hope there are some..

I'm guessing everyone with a brain doesn't want the US to go into Iran. It's like these people didn't learn anything from the last quarter century (and Vietnam before that).

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 39 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Learn things? With our education system??? Buddy! What do you think this is??? A different country? Who's this other country you're thinking about??? They sound like someone we need to go to war with! Do they have oil?

Not to mention the terrain of Iran would prove an order of magnitude more difficult to overcome. Afghanistan was already very difficult for our military, imagine MORE mountains

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 24 points 1 week ago

Yep, huge country, difficult terrain, largely homogeneous culture that goes back to the Persian Empire, homegrown weapons industry that can build their own drones and missiles. This is going to be more difficult by orders of magnitude.

What exactly is this woman’s platform?

[–] Lodespawn@aussie.zone 89 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"brown people can fuck off and deal with their own brown people shit"

You should print this on a bumper sticker and sell it in Texas.

"Keep me in power and, more importantly, the spotlight"

She's an attention whore. Nothing more, nothing less. It's why she married her pedophile husband: he gave her attention when she was underage.

Before you get too excited, this was an interview with OAN, and that she thinks people should be paying more attention to OAN

Kinda. MTG is ragging on Fox News, sure, but she's also both-sides'ing media outlets on the left with her full quote:

We have propaganda news on our side just as the left does

She's fishing for people to agree with her which legitimizes her claim that left-leaning news networks are just as untrustworthy as Fox News, which is an untrustworthy news outlet, but she doesn't say shit about Breitbart or OANN or any of the other right-wing superspreaders of misinformation.

So, she is a broken clock that's currently pointing at the correct time, but she did it in a way to sneak in an untruth or two in there hoping that people would pick up on that and amplify the message.

I oppose war in Iran because war is detestable.

You oppose war in Iran because you want troops in California instead.

We are not the same.

Russia is pro Iran so it wasn't entirely unexpected.

Heartbreaking, the worst person you know just made a great point

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 40 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Saw polling where even Trump voters only have 25% support for attack on Iran, and majority of all demographics oppose by over 50%. There is a huge disconnect between zionist supremacist media and politicians, and American people. Not just war, but marjority of Amercians have unfavourable view of Israel despite absolute political/media dominance to "educate them".

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 23 points 1 week ago

Polls also show overwhelming support for social security and taxing the rich, the GOP don't give af and the R voters won't change how they vote over this.

[–] Artyom@lemm.ee 40 points 1 week ago (1 children)

A republican being anti-Fox News? That's a bold strategy.

[–] jubilationtcornpone@sh.itjust.works 33 points 1 week ago (8 children)

I have heard some people refer to Fox News as being, and I quote, "liberal."

In fairness, these people are part of the MAGA crowd, so I assume they can't actually read and have no idea what the word "liberal" means.

When I hear someone like MTG say something like this my first thought isn’t “Oh, she’s finally figuring it out!” No. It’s “What fucked up way does she think people need to be brainwashed to align more with her brand of shittiness?”

[–] Breezy@lemmy.world 32 points 1 week ago

I thought this was a SNL skit with a joe biden character on the left.

You know, I was pretty adapted to this whole "dumbest reality" thing. I thought I had a good handle on it.

Now I'm agreeing with Bimbo Spacelasers on a political stance... I'm literally having an existential crisis to that.

"We have propaganda news on our side just as the left does"

Greene claimed that since Carlson was fired from "neocon network Fox News, he has more popularity and viewers than ever before" and that "he unapologetically believes the same things I do."

Yeah, nah.
