The top two are every DSA meeting.

The bottom two are every PSL meeting.

[–] Acute_Engles@hexbear.net 36 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Is there a canada version of PSL because I'm those 2

[–] spectre@hexbear.net 23 points 2 months ago (3 children)

The Mounties?

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 55 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Those last 2 feel like a personal call out

They got us with this one

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 44 points 2 months ago (4 children)

I would use public transportation if there was any around where I live

Best you get is free Uber for Seniors and I'm not that old

[–] Euergetes@hexbear.net 27 points 2 months ago (2 children)

putting on a fake beard and cane to get a ride

[–] T34_69@hexbear.net 16 points 2 months ago

Yeah just drop me off at Science E, just in time for my lab, thanks Sonny!

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 20 points 2 months ago

SAME. My area has rides for people on medicad to appointments but the shuttle busses are only for 65+ and it's such a shame because they stop right at your home and pick you up. wtf you bastards let me on!

[–] SovietyWoomy@hexbear.net 19 points 2 months ago

Even if there was public transit near me, it would be full of unmasked antivaxxers

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, I hate that fucking gotcha.

The porks stuff all the young and poor people into the boonie-ass suburbs they got bored of and mock us.

If public transportation really is that bad. Lower rent and start hiring so I can get a job in the city and find out for myself!

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 17 points 2 months ago

I really miss being able to just take the bus and walk places

People say "Oh, you can just walk on the edge of the road" and it's like, cool, 4 inches of painted asphalt between me and some guy named Clovis driving drunk on his way home from the VFW

Very nice

[–] VibeCoder@hexbear.net 43 points 2 months ago

both parties are trying to appeal to

doubt

[–] SmithrunHills@hexbear.net 43 points 2 months ago (1 children)

tag yourself i'm lee mullen/guy who wishes he was chinese

[–] hello_hello@hexbear.net 41 points 2 months ago

Unironically learning about Chinese cities is a form of escapism for me that I excuse as "gathering information on the products of Chinese socialism"

[–] ExotiqueMatter@lemmygrad.ml 42 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Wild how the 4th one wasn't a thing 1 year ago.

[–] poster596@hexbear.net 57 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Big China victory. As always, consult the graphs. china trending up, us straight line down

[–] jack@hexbear.net 27 points 2 months ago

it was a thing in 2020. I'm that man

[–] ExotiqueMatter@lemmygrad.ml 19 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Not to the point of being considered a whole voter block.

[–] WildWeezing420@hexbear.net 35 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

what can i say, i'm just ahead of the curve

China won over a lot of covid-conscious people with their zero-covid policies and general competency while the rest of the world was floundering

As I understand it Mullen doesn't wish he was Chinese, he just thinks it's funny to talk in a fake Chinese accent to the delight of an overweight Greek man

[–] SickSemper@hexbear.net 27 points 2 months ago (2 children)

It’s half and half, iirc towards the end of the podcast, the Chinese accents were combined with a partially ironic/partially sincere appreciation for China. I think he was learning mandarin at one point

[–] FourteenEyes@hexbear.net 23 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I fully believe he was learning Mandarin entirely to get practice with actual Chinese language tones so he could speak fake Chinese better

[–] SickSemper@hexbear.net 28 points 2 months ago

tonally and gramatically correct gay chinese actor michael douglas

Nah he talks semi-unironically about it being the Chinese century and that the west has no chance and they are on a different level. Plus he really, really liked the Chinese family he lived with

[–] ConcreteHalloween@hexbear.net 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

They did help him evade the FBI, which is a solid move

[–] WildWeezing420@hexbear.net 12 points 2 months ago

Hilarious that his uncle snitched on him because he was explaining ISIS in detail to him. Just reading the Wikipedia page on ISIS is enough to get the FBI called on you i guess

[–] JoeByeThen@hexbear.net 38 points 2 months ago

Lol neither party care about these people.

[–] ikilledtheradiostar@hexbear.net 38 points 2 months ago

Neither party can drop the racism enough to appeal to that Lee guy

[–] Ilixtze@lemmy.ml 35 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The truth is I am not even a leftist; I am the guy who wishes he was in china and I ended up here because Reddit and Lemmy gringo liberals keep calling me "tankie" because of that.

angry beard guy who wishes he was Chinese

this is almost me, except I work hard as hell (i was doing 996 uber driving last month and the one before) and when I lived in a place with adequate public transit I used it every day (but I don't live there anymore cuz the rent got too high).

[–] EnsignRedshirt@hexbear.net 20 points 2 months ago

The transit thing is a low blow. I do love public transit, but transit isn't a sports team that you root for, it has to actually do the thing. If it's not viable where you live, then that's the reality.

[–] CeliacMcCarthy@hexbear.net 25 points 2 months ago

what if you're 3 of these

[–] Acute_Engles@hexbear.net 23 points 2 months ago

50% chapo brandon 50% lee mullen

[–] segfault11@hexbear.net 19 points 2 months ago

hex bear . net

[–] jack@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago

[–] kleeon@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago

Chapo Brandon is so me

[–] nothx@hexbear.net 14 points 2 months ago

Chapo Mullen over here…

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 12 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I'm the second line of all 4. Truly the enlightened position.

[–] FALGSConaut@hexbear.net 10 points 2 months ago

I'm the bottom two but I use public transportation every chance I get because trains & buses are neat

[–] WhatDoYouMeanPodcast@hexbear.net 10 points 2 months ago

Not really into podcasts nor beards, and I'm generally people-optimistic at the end of the day. Being Chinese would be slick rn

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 9 points 2 months ago

Chapo Brandon

BMF? Is that you?
