Eh not really, the entire reason they lost the island was the Corsicans hating the Italians and leading an independence war. Corsicans tend to still dislike Italians.

A few hundred years later Corsica rose up against the Italians and the Italians requested the French militaries help. After the conflict ended the French just took it as repayment for their help.

That difference in culture might have impacted how acceptable it was for Spain to brutalize the peoples of the new world. With French colonization impossible, perhaps Germany would have colonized Africa in its place, for they have alot more coastline. Unfortunately Belgium and the UK still exist so, all that bullshit would probably still happen.
I don't know if this would be a "better" world, but it would be interesting to see how it played out.
