You're welcome to join my expedition to go back to 19th century Vienna and kill Freud. The time machine is finished. We're leaving on Tuesday. You need to bring your own gun and German phrase book. "Ver is der mommenfucken quaken doktor vit der kokaine habbit?"

I'm sitting on the toilet uncontrollably laughing out loud at this comment. I'm sure my significant other is wondering what the hell is going on.

TO: ratboy

Sorry ratboy, I'll be a bit late to the cuddles. Swinging by Franks place, we're going to kill Freud.

TO: Frank

I'm swinging by in my BT-7, got my musket and school German with me.

Just swing by and pick me up now. Why do I have to wait until Tuesday?

Also can we make a quick stop on the way? I wanna use an authentic shotel.

Mommy issues is really more about being gently dommed IMO

[–] SpiderFarmer@hexbear.net 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

True. I'm also glad I was into this before it became a whole damn internet trend. The odds were already tight a decade ago, the local cougars forming boy harems like naked mole rats.

[–] bigboopballs@hexbear.net 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

god I wish I were in a local cougar's harem

[–] Abracadaniel@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago

Oooooooof yeah that's sounds right LMAO.

[–] AlicePraxis@hexbear.net 28 points 2 years ago (1 children)

that's wack, guy's an idiot. of course you can find older women attractive without it being some sort of pathology. it's not like women stop being hot after 40, anyone who thinks that is a creep

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago

A lot of dudes think any woman 30 or older is "old af" and it's almost always the type of people saying that who end up chasing women much younger than themselves.

[–] Sinister@hexbear.net 25 points 2 years ago (2 children)

We should congratulate every heterosexual man that isn’t into “s-shes totally 18 I swear1!1!” kind of women.

[–] Omegamint@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago (3 children)

I don’t get how these people manage to get over the age difference? I can’t deal with younger women at all, it just feels so weird. Like I can’t feel like we have anything in common at all. It’s incredibly offputting and anyone who can just ignore it weirds me out

I believe the secret is not respecting women as people

I mean, I know I have mommy issues, but I also know that my sexual preferences are most likely because of all the cartoons I watched as a kid

Silverhawks, Thundercats, X-Men, Batman...

hyperflush

[–] PrincessMagnificent@hexbear.net 18 points 2 years ago (1 children)

He's wrong, I have mommy issues and I don't like older women with bigger chests at all.

🤷 I highly doubt it, a type is a type.

[–] TheDialectic@hexbear.net 16 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Nah, that is an age appropriate and health view of sexuality. Your associate has got Hollywood brain where you are supposed to chase women as young as you can. It is creepy, but it is socially normal right now so you can't judge people too harshly for having those kinds of ideas

[–] Kuori@hexbear.net 6 points 2 years ago

it is socially normal right now so you can't judge people too harshly for having those kinds of ideas

of course you can, silly. i do it all the time.

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

People will accuse you of having a fetish with any preference. Like older men/women? Parental issues/fetish. Like taller men/women? Again, parental issues/fetish. Like shorter men/women? Pedophile.

Just ignore them and like what you like.

[–] Sasuke@hexbear.net 14 points 2 years ago

no, you're actually the normal one

[–] necrobius@lemm.ee 13 points 2 years ago

Someone read about Freud

[–] FanonFan@hexbear.net 9 points 2 years ago

I mean maybe lol

arguably our childhood experiences may shape the archetypes and symbols through which we subconsciously understand the world.

But like, if that's the case, that's true for everyone to some degree, not just people whose specific tastes can be easily (and reductively) correlated with a single relationship.

"Issues" has a negative connotation to it and I'm always critical of the idea that some innocuous thing necessarily symbolizes something worse (thus suggesting the innocuous thing itself is a problem). Unless you're experiencing problems in your life or interpersonal relationships, or causing undue harm to people around you, it doesn't really matter whether your tastes come from unconscious symbolism, evolutionary drive, or whatever mechanism. Although it can be interesting to think about.

[–] ElGosso@hexbear.net 9 points 2 years ago

Have you considered the power imbalance

[–] AlpineSteakHouse@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Yeah, primal archetype of unconditional love and affection. The weaning process can be traumatic and those who don't get over it fully still feel a desire to return to that state. It's made worse by the general lack of positive emotional interaction masc folk receive so the brain returns to the only source it ever knew comfort.

I wonder if they think guys who date younger girls have issues? thinking-about-it

it's only an issue if you don't have an older woman with a bigger chest.
