Everyone is bearing false witness against their neighbours. Biblical days ahead.

[–] ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 hours ago

They said shit to me while spraying and beating me in 2007. They probably can back it up better now with all the tech, but my assumption is that their 'database' is just running the picture through AI and chasing the slop.

[–] JargonWagon@lemmy.world 15 points 12 hours ago

So does anyone have information on their database? Maybe little Bobby Tables could be added.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 16 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

That’s laughable a literal lawless state sponsored terrorist group recruiting white nationalist gang members calling civilians who are exercising their constitutional rights “terrorists”

[–] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 13 hours ago

2026 - goose stepping right on into 1984 cosplay!

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 13 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

What a crazy 180 we've done here... Terrorists as labeled by the feds were the most hated group back in the early 2000's. Now, I guess it's a badge of honor? What a shitty time to be alive.

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

When the fed is a terrorist organization, it's not a surprise that the people labeled 'terrorist' by actual terrorists get support.

Job interview in 2040: "So, I notice you're not on the database. Why is that?"

[–] m3t00@lemmy.world 9 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

good cover if you happen to be a dt

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago

They made that term up anyway tho.

Je suis DTs

[–] Sprocketfree@sh.itjust.works 25 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

Wait... Isn't this intimidation with use of force to deprive a citizen of their constitutional rights? If that was me I'd be filing a lawsuit tomorrow morning. I'm also confident that doesn't fall under officer immunity either.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 11 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

You got him dead to rights buddy! Go take him to court so that he can get away scot free!

Trump was charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records
Verdict Guilty on all counts
Subsequent action Sentence of unconditional discharge

I am tired of constantly seeing the failure of the US in the news. The good folks at Myanmnar know just to report all their horrible events in one lump sum once a fortnight only.

[–] Sprocketfree@sh.itjust.works 5 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I'm confused. So your response is do nothing and take it?

[–] M0oP0o@mander.xyz -5 points 9 hours ago

Not sure how you got that? I swear you americans have been politically neutered and have blinders on for the rest of the world.

In every single one of these ICE encounter videos they always have one masked goon dedicated to filming everything with professional camera gear. I don't know why that isn't more talked about. Given that big tech is involved in this regime as the benefactor, it should be a much bigger story.

I suppose it's part of their psyop to blindspot people to it. I would not be surprised at this point.

Putting everybody in the database and declaring them terrorists means the database is no longer useful. The label no longer has meaning. If everyone is a terrorist no one is a terrorist.

[–] Signtist@bookwyr.me 12 points 14 hours ago

Well, they're not putting everybody in the database. They're specifically putting anyone they think is against Trump in the database, so that they can eventually round them all up and dispose of anyone who doesn't bow down to him. This isn't an exaggeration, it's literally what he's saying: by opposing ICE, you become an enemy of the state, and we've seen what they do to enemies of the state.

[–] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 2 points 9 hours ago

The label never really had any meaning

[–] chillhelm@lemmy.world 84 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

It opens the door for arbitrary enforcement. In the theoretical world where these guys may have to justify themselves in a court of law, they can say "he was in the domestic terrorist database, so we were justified in pinning him down with 5 guys while another guy shot him in the back after disarming him."

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 36 points 21 hours ago

This is correct.

They are criminalizing as many people as possible.

Congrats on making the word "terrorist' meaningless and flooding the system with junk data.

[–] NotMyOldRedditName@lemmy.world 4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

They've been working on that for awhile

No one on his crew. What he means to say is they're making a political opposition list and will be treating the people on it like domestic terrorists.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 25 points 1 day ago* (last edited 17 hours ago)

Well clearly ICE are trying to terrorize legal observers with their threats, gassings, beatings and executions.

Can't wait for the list to get so long and bloated it's basically meaningless so some ACTUAL terrorist can slip thru the cracks.

[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 89 points 1 day ago (2 children)

How to radicalize a population 101.

[–] pdxfed@lemmy.world 34 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Well the world is waiting for the condemnation and outpouring of support from all those rabid free speech and "over my dead body" 2nd amendment right wingers to step forward...

Curiously quiet now? So it's only an amendment that you want to protect your team and that's when it matters? Ahh, then you don't support the constitution nor this country.

[–] sniggleboots@europe.pub 32 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

They're not quiet, they're the ones that joined ICE

[–] discocactus@lemmy.world 10 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

This is what all the armchair Europeans don't get. The 2A right wingers are 100% defending their nation. It just happens to be the Aryan Nation not the USA.

[–] TwodogsFighting@lemdro.id 1 points 4 hours ago

Oh, we've always been able to see that, thanks.

On one of the no kings protests, I saw a group of dudes going to it on bicycles. They had the right idea. No license plates, less data to track.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 3 points 13 hours ago

A lot of us don't mask up for peaceful protests. It hits home better if they see our faces in smaller cities.

If this is what gets people into a database - protesting fascism and filming it - then sign me up. What a fucking honor.

[–] Bob_Robertson_IX@discuss.tchncs.de 57 points 1 day ago (5 children)

Bikes, masked and no cell phones. Don't give them anything.

[–] BeardededSquidward@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 18 hours ago (3 children)

The last one, leave your cellphones at home. Don't turn them off, leave them at home. Don't turn them off and bring them. Leave them at home.

The problem with putting everyone on the domestic terrorist list is that everyone is on the list. Eventually it becomes more suspicious to be not on the list, because it means you're intentionally hiding yourself.

so if the justification for ICE/CBP acting like nazis is that people were calling them nazis, does that mean people can start blowing shit up like terrorists?

[–] kablez@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (1 children)

Honestly, I can't believe it's taken this long for Americans to start rioting. Just the fact your entire life can be upended by illness should be enough to make society break out in a rage.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 3 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

America is a big land. Our peoples aren't condensed into relatively small territories like how citizens of European countries are. That makes it hard for national unity and focus to be obtained, and our politicians are often far away from consequences.

It is a big pot that is slow to boil. Hopefully, it will explode and turn the Trump Regime into steamed lobsters.

[–] kablez@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

I'm in Australia so I can definitely relate to a lot of that!

I think populists have been extremely clever to conflate historical issues relating to poverty and rural areas with trending topics like immigration and "wealthy inner city elites".

Ironically, it's the people like Trump and other right wingers who are most likely to create poor outcomes for the worst off among their own followers, but as long as those people are fuelled by rage, bigotry and a carefully constructed narrative they will remain none the wiser.

[–] cv_octavio@piefed.ca 7 points 18 hours ago

It may be time to wear the shoes you're being told fit, America.

Trouble maker list. Handy in every dictator regimes effort to suppress political opposition.
