The theory reading lists are awesome, do you have any thoughts on readings for kids that help introduce theory?

I like dialectics4kids! Ignore the anti-communist bits the author puts in, these are great explanations of dialectical materialism for young children in an extremely digestible way.

And thanks so much!

Ignore the anti-communist bits the author puts in,

I would have to edit them out to vent my anger

A bourbon and some fuck-off tequila cocktail. I enjoy bourbon from time to time, but the cocktail was for the spirit of it all.

heh, spirit

[–] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 6 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Nice what kind of Bourbon? I love a good bourbon.

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 6 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

The bar had Angel's Envy, so that's what I had. It was pretty nice! Kinda smooth and a tiny bit winey.

How do i deal with the crippling frustration and self esteem issues i have about my band, and nobody larger being able or willing to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, while still feeling motivated enough to put on something of my own to celebrate 10 years of sticking with and building something on a personal level?

[–] KuroXppi@hexbear.net 12 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Congratulations on 10 years with your band!

That's tough, comrade. Lacking recognition in those "ahead" in certain metrics can certainly be crushing, regardless of field. It's something we can all relate to. However, I think having a solid foundation in yourself, and telling the world that you made it, can often be satisfying in its own way. You've stuck with a project for 10 years, that's longer than I've been able to stick with anything. It's incredibly impressive, and frankly awe-inspiring. The recognition may not come from your peers, but know that you've got at least 2 people here that think you're cool as fuck!

More time for water drinking.

I've been refilling beer cans with water at parties since I was 26, and I don't even hide it. It's just a container I've already put my mouth on.

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 4 points 4 weeks ago

Yep! Gotta stay hydrated! Knowing my limit is 2 is just a handy rule to keep in mind.

Whats your favorite show slop at the moment (can be a top 5 if you cant pick one)

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 6 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago) (1 children)

I've been watching Bridgerton with my spouse recently (I know, we both hate the aristocracy but it's sloppy slop)! I'm not so much a show guy as others are. The last show I really enjoyed was Dungeon Meshi I think!

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 7 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

No way, i am also watching Bridgerton with my partner!

I don't pay much attention to it, but I can appreciate how it basically does every single Victorian romance trope

Having read most of the classics in college, the only thing they haven't done is the madwoman in the attic, but maybe that's next season?

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 5 points 4 weeks ago

Maybe! We actually are nearing the end of the first season right now. Other old romances we have a soft spot for are Emma and Pride and Prejudice, both are just fun to watch on a rainy night in.

Enjoy that shit for those of us who can't. Cheers!

The fluidity of the real makes distilling hard proof of falsehood a spirited affair. Do you concur?
