I would have thought it was a joke until I saw that was priced like an actual Apple product.
Didn't realise macbook had a touchpad on the right side variant.
Image generation is still garbage.
I thought it was a speaker grille. But also, there's no space at the bottom end of the keyboard for a trackpad, so still garbage image generation.
WTF can't you have the computer run with the lid closed... works on windows and ubuntu..

on KDE Plasma on Linux (and BSDs), the Power Management widget or taskbar item has a toggle to Manually Block Sleep and Screen Locking, which prevents time-based and lid-based sleep and locking. in the settings app at System > Power Management you can set what to do when the lid is closed, with separate profiles for when plugged in, on battery, or on low battery. kde is very customizable and fully featured, would recommend

On the CLI or with 3rd party software yes, in the system settings no.
Edit: Or when an external display is attached it does it automatically, which is also not tunable. If I wasn't forced to at work I'd never use this OS.

This is also a joke about AI users. There was an article about them leaving their laptop screens open so their vibe coding would continue. Most of them use windows but don’t know how to change the power settings for closed lid/screen.

They do, it's in power settings.
Apple changed the power settings to no longer allow the computer to stay awake with the lid closed unless it's either connected to power or connected to an external display.
Edit: But there is a command line you can use.
