A community for your defence shitposting needs

Rules

1. Be niceDo not make personal attacks against each other, call for violence against anyone, or intentionally antagonize people in the comment sections.

2. Explain incorrect defense articles and takes

If you want to post a non-credible take, it must be from a "credible" source (news article, politician, or military leader) and must have a comment laying out exactly why it's non-credible. Low-hanging fruit such as random Twitter and YouTube comments belong in the Matrix chat.

3. Content must be relevant

Posts must be about military hardware or international security/defense. This is not the page to fawn over Youtube personalities, simp over political leaders, or discuss other areas of international policy.

4. No racism / hatespeech

No slurs. No advocating for the killing of people or insulting them based on physical, religious, or ideological traits.

5. No politics

We don't care if you're Republican, Democrat, Socialist, Stalinist, Baathist, or some other hot mess. Leave it at the door. This applies to comments as well.

6. No seriousposting

We don't want your uncut war footage, fundraisers, credible news articles, or other such things. The world is already serious enough as it is.

7. No classified material

Classified ‘western’ information is off limits regardless of how "open source" and "easy to find" it is.

8. Source artwork

If you use somebody's art in your post or as your post, the OP must provide a direct link to the art's source in the comment section, or a good reason why this was not possible (such as the artist deleting their account). The source should be a place that the artist themselves uploaded the art. A booru is not a source. A watermark is not a source.

9. No low-effort posts

No egregiously low effort posts. E.g. screenshots, recent reposts, simple reaction & template memes, and images with the punchline in the title. Put these in weekly Matrix chat instead.

10. Don't get us banned

No brigading or harassing other communities. Do not post memes with a "haha people that I hate died… haha" punchline or violating the sh.itjust.works rules (below). This includes content illegal in Canada.

11. No misinformation

NCD exists to make fun of misinformation, not to spread it. Make outlandish claims, but if your take doesn’t show signs of satire or exaggeration it will be removed. Misleading content may result in a ban. Regardless of source, don’t post obvious propaganda or fake news. Double-check facts and don't be an idiot.

Mexico becomes a International arms dealer in Drones out of the combat experience... Hinting a probable change in how we do warfare altogether.

these numbers arent even remotely close to russian losses btw

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

I think the numbers were proportional, or at least proportionate, back in May of 2022 when this was created.

Oh! To recall the carefree days when the special 3-day military operation was only around 90 days old.

And Russia has a smaller population total.

As a citizen of San Antonio, I'd like to extend the warmest welcome to our friends in the Mexican helicopters.

Would end with Mexico reclaiming Texas and California, inshallah.

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

imagine they reclaim all the territory except the Gadsden purchase, which becomes an exclave.

as it was, so it shall be again effendi

With the number of Mexican Americans in the country, those supporting Mexico would wreak havoc.

And I specifically mean those here legally

The number of American born non-Hispanics supporting Mexico would be enough to tear the country apart, lol

People here legally from Mexico probably do not want to go back to Mexico. They went through a lot of trouble and paperwork to not be in Mexico.

[–] Lumisal@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

But now they'll be in New New Mexico

[–] WhiteOakBayou@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Not to be confused with old New Mexico

This should be updated with:

  • The Mexican President allows the American President to have a cage match on the White House lawn

  • Washington DC gets bombed immediately after

Small typo, it’s “half of a Chihuahua.”

[–] P1k1e@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh fuq man that's a really funny (and sad) image

[–] Silic0n_Alph4@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

By truce agreement, Mexico feeds the front half and the USA cleans up the poop from the rear half. Both sides think they’ve got the better deal. The chihuahua is angry at this arrangement and the rest of existence, as is the way with such things.

For a second, I thought I'd missed the next big brain move after Iran.

Yeah, sounds like a legit scenario for 2027 to me. I'll be back in a minute, I quickly have to visit polymarket.

It's 2028, the trial of notorious insider trader "optional" is beginning. Polymarket Presents the Supreme Court (tm) has decided to execute the one bad apple responsible for all of the corruption.

I mean the CIA is doing something down there, we don't know exactly what their plans are but it can't be good.

If past behavior is anything to go by, continuing to pad their budget working with local drug dealers.
