A man who was injured after his motorcycle collided with an RCMP vehicle is suing the RCMP and several officers claiming there was excessive use of force.

The collision happened in August 2023 when the plaintiff Daniel Leclair was driving his motorcycle on Highway 5 near Dauphin. Leclair made a U-turn on the highway after realizing he made a wrong turn, the lawsuit says.

It alleges a black sport utility vehicle "deliberately collided with the rear of the plaintiff's motorcycle at a high rate of speed," which threw the plaintiff from his motorcycle and made him realize immediately that he had broken ribs.

Don't believe the cop only side, you have to read past that snippet, the one officer was charged with multiple things:

A Manitoba RCMP officer is now facing criminal charges, following further investigation by Manitoba's police watchdog into a 2023 highway chase.

Cpl. Kevin Challoner has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle in relation to an incident on Highway 5 near Dauphin on Aug. 29 of last year, the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba said in a Thursday news release.

He had been charged earlier this year under the Highway Traffic Act with failure to drive with due regard to safety in connection with the incident.
