There is a fuel embargo. You really believe thst Canada would ignore it?

99% of the time I'd agree with you, but Canada is close enough to Cuba that I can see it happening.

If it was true it would have been mentionned in articles and in Anita annand statements

I mean, apparently they're willing to go against the US on Cuba, per this article. It's not specified which things Cuba needs they'll be sending, but it's something.

Like Canada claimed to oppose Iraq war while sharing intel with the Americans and providing naval and air support? Canada has always been a disgusting hypocritical country

There is a tariff threat to those who would help. It is disgusting in of itself, but everything Canada says/does is met with a tariff threat, and so we should call the bluff. Cuba is a much better place to visit than Florida, and Canadians are lucky to be one of the few who get to go there, and Cuba would be much better off if US lifted its oppression, but its important to not tolerate pure evil.

Pushing back against the US, or even contributing to its collapse, is the only path to respect for Canada. Doug Ford sucking every dick in Washington not only has it gotten him nothing, he had to apologize for daring to say that tariffs hurt everyone. While sound logic, the guys getting their dick sucked aren't complaining, and don't mind that he obeys orders to suck harder.

Good on you guys for having balls. Here in Estonia we can't even move off fucking Microsoft Teams in government services because they're all too busy sucking American cock (I mean the decisionmakers, not regular employees lol), I can't imagine we'd ever do anything to upset Trump at this point.

Canadian government uses Teams.

The US has an embargo, we don't.

I would hope that we would continue to send fuel to them.

Trump threatened anybody who does it with tarrifs

[–] HertzDentalBar@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

The tariffs that were deamed invalid? Or the new tariffs that will also be deamed invalid?

[–] mrdown@lemmy.world 1 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

You think the dictator in the making Trump will keep respecting the courts?

[–] HertzDentalBar@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 10 hours ago

Has he ever? Not sure if he's ever not failed to comply properly 😂

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 1 points 14 hours ago

I want 0 trade with the Americans so that's a good thing to me.

[–] Slax@sh.itjust.works 1 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I mean Canada already has tariffs and their Trade Secretary is not backing down, even adding tariffs to the free trade agreements..
