If it tries, yes.

I highly doubt it will, despite the efforts of a few MPs and MLAs.

If it helps garner any hope, there are former MPs and MLAs on the fediverse, and two candidates in the NDP leadership election have made accounts there and regularly post.

The leader of the BC Green party, I believe her name was Emily Lowan, also has an account.

The real hope is here among us - in creating and supporting an organic alternative. Only an NDP government may provide real material boost to our efforts that don't steer towards a proprietary, or otherwise for-profit Canadian alternative. Imagine pro-business reps helping non-profit Canadian social instead of a for-profit one. And you bet there will always be for-profits trying to get handouts.
