What I’d like to know is which CAF regiments are getting the purchased firearms….

Aren't they mostly hunting guns anyway? They can't really be used for combat.

Just make a new PAL class that let's you keep this list of weapons. But also requires you to be on the supplementary reserve list.

Supplementary reserve numbers and the gun buyback issues resolved in a single pen stroke.

I'd go for that. I am thinking of joining the reserves.

Just a heads up, the supplementary reserve and primary reserve are two different things, in case you aren't aware. Supp reserve is only activated in times of war/emergency and primary reserve meet couple times a month to train.

I wanted to join the Canadian Forces regular, but to due my anxiety disorder they said no. It has been years and I gained a lot of weight due to COVID that I haven't lost. Maybe the reserves will still accept. I got what it takes to get back in the game.

Worth the attempt! Worse case it helps you get back in shape, which never hurts.

The vast majority of the banned firearms are outdated for modern warfare.

They banned large game hunting rifles that cost over 50,000$ because of a muzzle energy rule they enact.

Dude... Those are elephant guns. Also they are highly ineffective beyond 50-100 meters and cannot be used to damage materiel. Some are literally 19th century designs in both the gun and the cartridge.

Then you’re part way to understanding the joke :)

Out of the 2500 now prohibited firearms models Ukraine only wanted 23, goes to show how many “weapons of warfare” they prohibited and want to confiscate.
