As a person with a devout Catholic, conservative, Afro-Caribbean family, I literally have heard them espouse the whole "We're better than those working-class black Americans because our culture is different!" line of thinking on multiple occasions.

Yeah. Living in St Pete, as a white man, I can say they don't do shit for black residents. And when I was briefly a part of the local Dems, I listened in to a Convo with someone who built report with the chair. They always talked about giving reach around the aisles and was imo pretty tone deaf/ surface level about how they organized an mlk event and had basketball(felt like I was listening to someone who ran with the bit in airplane and didn't realize it was mocking them)And slowly but surely it's being gentrified to hell, even the 'south side'. One very good example is the community I lived in shortly had a grocery store plaza, that didn't have an actual grocery store in it since sweetbay went bankrupt(or consolidated or w.e.), so from about 2014 I think to 2022 for sure they haven't had an easily accessible place to get groceries unless you go about 2 miles to Walmart. Which isn't super far (to me, on a bike). But I and the rest of the neighborhood could've walked less than a mile had there been anything there. And I think there's still nothing there, just a big empty dusty azz store.

And when you're someone who is not white, straight, male, or cis, people having zero intersectionality will make you want to rip your hair out.

I know about the misogynistic gay men, I can see the white women being racist ez, either by being explicit or fetishization(spelled right I hope), I'm going to go on a limb and guess that n.o.i. and similar ideology fuels black antisemitism? I think the homophobia is based off of succession, honor, tradition etc maybe? And yeah I get not seeing each other's oppression too, it's just still wild that the short-term gains of voting along class lines is deemed more beneficial than the face that's going to be eaten by a leopard. Like why not run as a candidate yourself or find a libertarian that won't throw minorities into the grinder (metaphorically) FOR THE LINE! I guess the 'IT WON'T HAPPEN TO ME' school of thought runs deep when you've got enough money to throw around. Keep in mind. The house is kinda dumpy. Like it doesn't look bad but it's not gonna be something he could retire off of but who knows housing prices are crazy rn.

I can attest to this. My family will constantly complain about racism and discrimination against Asian people, but the they’ll repeat the same discrimination against everyone else, including Asian people lol.

There’s also conservatives with gay children. While many go ballistic and denounce and abuse them, others rationalize this by thinking “well, my kid was raised by me, and I’m normal, so they’re normal too even if they’re not straight! I’m totally fine with them being gay. But as for the other gays….” For example, Ted Cruz has a bisexual daughter. Shortly after her suicide attempt, she went on social media to say her dad didn’t have anything to do with it and that they’re close. It could be PR, but I believe it. He doesn’t restrict her sexuality, but he also doesn’t bring attention to it and they’re rich enough to be protected in any case. Some conservatives have “spoken out” in defense when their children come out as gay or trans, but usually after the kid has been bullied and they see the first hand effects of their ideology.

it fucks me up when people don't realize any individual human can be a fucked up dumbass and it's a result of that persons agency combined with whatever constellation of events created their experiences.

It's a white neighborhood I suppose, but only technically via, idk, a 51(white)-49(nonwhite)% split. It's St Petersburg, disston heights neighborhood, it's pretty mixed imo compared to other neighborhoods. Again I understand it's not unusual, but it's weird (to me) it's specifically Trump(probably easier to gravitate towards on name recognition, antagonistic towards Democrats, aligned class interests, yada yada), and yeah maybe there's something like a white partner or military experience.

I've heard people argue the whole "POC and colored person are the same because they sound similar!" thing, but it completely neglects the fact that whether a term is used derogatorily or not is more important for considering it a slur than just "how it sounds." You'd seldom, if ever, hear people use POC as a slur, but colored person, like you said, has been used as such.

Someone I had relations with said that they don't like p.o.c., the reasoning being that it's a euphemistic way of saying colored person though. For reference they claimed they were ADOS, I can't remember exactly what they preferred me to use while discussing politics. Might've been just black. Idk it was too many bottles of poppers ago. Anyways, I'll use p.o.c. and it's variations here unless someone informs me otherwise I suppose.
