Oh I'll continue to say it because it depends where. In this specific case it was indeed the case. However my riding had 99% chances to go to the Liberals, it did, and my vote wouldn't have made any difference.
If everyone who voted Liberal in your riding thought that, and decided not to vote for that reason, then I think the results would have been very different.
I sometimes wonder if something similar happened further south last November - too many voters were lukewarm on Harris and sat out instead of voting, figuring that Harris would win anyways. And we all know how that turned out.
IMO it's an electoral reform issue. It's very true that some people votes don't count, because they voted for someone who didn't get elected, thus they elected no one and their voice isn't heard.
When people say a vote make no difference, they mean thry don't trust any candidate would make change in their daily life

We really need proportional representation... ~~IMO it's good that the riding isn't conservative anymore, but~~ I wish that ~half the population of that riding didn't just essentially elected no one.
Listen, betting on which horse will when the campaign race is no basis for a system of government.
It was a BQ riding, not CPC.
