This shit is so funny

[–] Hohsia@hexbear.net 69 points 4 months ago (1 children)

What these people refer to as “college” is usually just reading. We really are so done

[–] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 41 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (2 children)

Excuse me, are you literate? Like some kind of woke college liberal?

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 23 points 4 months ago

i'm curious what he was thinking fox news would have said, had they not "been infiltrated". that republicans DIDN'T vote not to release epstein files? like that's not just true? lol

"That's not the way the world really works anymore," [probably Karl Rove, allegedly] continued. "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors...and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

That's from over 20 years ago now.

Jesus is that a real quote?

[–] wolfinthewoods@hexbear.net 2 points 4 months ago

[–] TheSpectreOfGay@hexbear.net 52 points 4 months ago (5 children)

this just makes me sad. how do you write that out and not think about that maybe you've been lied to at all :/

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 46 points 4 months ago

They know it's lies. Reactionaries say the wrong things on purpose because their goal is acquiring and maintaining power. To them, the ends justify the means. This person is looking for the lie they can tell to get away with hurting people they don't like. It doesn't matter if the lie comes from Grok, CNN, or Fox. They just want the one they can repeat to cause the most damage with the smallest risk.

This applies to all fascists and anyone adjacent to them regarding what they want to do. They want concentration camps for trans people where they can eradicate them. They know they can't say that part outloud yet. So they tell these lies to further their goals while having plausible deniability the way the mafia talks about killing people when they know law enforcement is listening.

[–] miz@hexbear.net 43 points 4 months ago

maintaining racial hierarchy is more important to them than anything else. load-bearing pillar of their self-esteem

[–] prole@hexbear.net 38 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, lied to by grok, CNN, fox, the AP, and this deep state agent on twitter

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 13 points 4 months ago

I mean yeah just not at all in the way they think

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 16 points 4 months ago

"Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past."

we're seeing how easily people fall for conspiracies and completely false bullshit now that it's so accessible. 40 years ago if you wanted to be into conspiracies you had to really work for it. I guess sports betting is the same too. Too accessible and shitloads of people(dudes) are addicted to it.
