Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Leaked assessment based on confidential accounts from 24 FBI sources describes organization as a ‘rudderless ship’

The FBI director, Kash Patel, is “in over his head” and leading a “chronically under-performing” agency paralyzed by fear and plummeting morale, according to a scathing 115-page report compiled by a national alliance of retired and active-duty FBI special agents and analysts.

The leaked assessment, obtained by the New York Post and prepared for both congressional Senate and House judiciary committees, is based on confidential accounts from 24 FBI sources.

They accuse Patel of lacking the experience to lead the FBI and that managers will not take initiative without explicit direction for fear of being fired. Patel’s first six months have produced a “troubling picture” of an organization described by insiders as a “rudderless ship”, with two sources independently characterizing the director as being “in over his head”. One stated he “lacks the requisite knowledge or deep understanding of all the FBI’s unique and complex investigative and intelligence programs”.

Wow, that’s wild that a brainless podcaster whose main qualification was supporting a bunch of Trump conspiracy bullshit didn’t turn out to be really good at running the FBI

"It's the FBI Michael, how hard could it be to run?"

And fuck every single one of the senators who voted to confirm him. They are a rubber stamp. Actually, that’s disrespectful to rubber stamps everywhere.

The only thing worse than an incompetent fascist is a competent fascist, so I'll take this as good news. Imagine a J. Edgar Hoover version of the FBI right now. No thank you.

[–] lechekaflan@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Hoover was an evil genius, however.

Scar would make for a better leader. Or most Disney villains, for that matter. They at least have some level of competency.

Who’d’ve thought a dude that looked like that would give off “paralyzed by fear” vibes?

It's fine. The White House says:

Federal hiring, promotions, and performance reviews will reward individual initiative, skills, performance, and hard work

So there's no way he could be unqualified.

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 15 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Who are they afraid of? Aren’t these supposed to be FBI agents?

[–] asg101@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 3 months ago

Fewer entrapments, false-flag operations and red squad operations? Fine by me.

[–] AlecSadler@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 3 months ago

Kash Patel can suck bubba dick

[–] Mrselfdestruct25@lemmynsfw.com 11 points 3 months ago (5 children)

He's wearing a cap that says FBI? What a loser.

[–] gex@lemmy.world 33 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He really loves FBI merch

On Sept. 11, 2025, the day after Kirk was assassinated, Patel flew into Provo, Utah, on the FBI jet but “would not disembark from the plane without an FBI raid jacket,"

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 14 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Wow that's some arrested development.

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

He was worried about hop ons.

[–] velindora@lemmy.cafe 6 points 3 months ago

Tbf, I had a FED family member (way back) and I loved his FED merch as a kid. That’s before I knew acab… Now…. Eehhhh…. I’ll pass. The wallets are super cool though.

[–] littlewonder@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

He's just still really enthusiastic about his Female Body Inspector merch from a class trip to DC in middle school.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 3 months ago

hes trying to get into VAHALLA.

[–] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 11 points 3 months ago (2 children)

One stated he “lacks the requisite knowledg

That on its own is enough to disqualify him.

But, it seems lacking knowledge or understanding is a pre-requisite for being appointed by Trump.
It's the only wat Trump can pretend he is the smartest person in the room.

The guy is a buffoon, incapable of constructing logical arguments. People like that can only lead and rule with structured fear. They believe themselves correct and clever as a result of the flourishing "yes" culture.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 6 points 3 months ago

Exactly as MAGA wants.
