All three flags are symbols of Ukrainian and German Naziism

God I hate when they play dumb.

[–] axont@hexbear.net 31 points 3 months ago (2 children)

If I wanted to be really fair I'd say maybe those flags are WW2 trophies. My great-grandfather had a captured imperial Japanese flag for instance that he displayed because I guess he was proud of capturing it.

It feels like a stretch though

the design shown here has not been used by the nazis and the way thd fabric looks shows that these flags were manufactured quite recently.

[–] flying_sheep@lemmy.ml 42 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Lolno, this is some modern Nazi shit.

And guess who puts Nazi flags on the wall, historic or not? Fucking Nazis.

[–] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 27 points 3 months ago (4 children)

Buddhists, Hindus, and some Native American tribes, and maybe others have all used swastikas. Only Nazis use it at the 45° angle like on that flag. Teach is a fucking Nazi.

[–] Alisu@hexbear.net 37 points 3 months ago

That is literally a nazi flag, it's not just the angle.

[–] Chump@hexbear.net 26 points 3 months ago (1 children)

She’s got a totenkopf right there

[–] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 22 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Woah, maybe she just got a random skull flag? I certainly wouldn't know what a totenwhateveritscalled was a nazi thing. We don't know she's a nazi just because of that.

[–] thefunkycomitatus@hexbear.net 22 points 3 months ago

She got drunk and went flag shopping with a group of marines back in 2010. They just didn't understand back then.

[–] Abracadaniel@hexbear.net 25 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Sorry to say that 45 degree angle line is a myth. a Buddhist swastika rotated 45 degrees

As is the line about the direction of the swastika. Both directions have been used by pre-nazi spiritual traditions. There's no secret trick to identifying a Nazi swastika, one must rely on the context around the symbol.

Yeah, but in this case:

[–] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 2 points 3 months ago

Fair enough then, but the iron crosses accompanying hers are straight Nazi. Teach is still a Nazi.

[–] durduramayacaklar@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Islam world too. Especially, in eastern parts

[–] Dessa@hexbear.net 27 points 3 months ago (1 children)

And that skull on the left is just because she's a huge Graham Platner fan

[–] aanes_appreciator@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

And the flag above that one appears to be one from another fascist state with a thirst for the blood of undesirable ethnicities.

[–] Dessa@hexbear.net 1 points 3 months ago

Oh, that's the corner of the East Germany flag. Easy mistake to make!

[–] Umechan@hexbear.net 26 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'm honestly surprised Nazis haven't just started using the Hindu or Buddhist depictions of the swastika or sauvastika so they can hide behind its history pre-nazi appropriation. They're either too dumb to think of it, or too shameless/committed to being a fascist that it would be unthinkable.

[–] vritrahan@lemmy.zip 37 points 3 months ago

They're just too racist for it

[–] NuraShiny@hexbear.net 24 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The Reichsadler is also a well-known budhist symbol, look it up five-head! it stands for the purity of the ger...hey waitaminute!

[–] oscardejarjayes@hexbear.net 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The swazikaka is derived from pee pee poo poo

[–] 666PeaceKeepaGirl@hexbear.net 11 points 3 months ago

It's an educational poster. The swastika is just a fancy multiplication sign. If you look closely you can see there's addition signs too.

The germany flag in the topleft wants to have a word...

[–] invalidusernamelol@hexbear.net 5 points 3 months ago

She's just a German history enthusiast!

[–] comrade_pibb@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago

awkward flag gesture!

[–] tactical_trans_karen@hexbear.net 2 points 3 months ago

I thought it was Hindu? Anyway, the original design is rotated 45° to form a cross like arrangement. And isn't it also often embellished with dots? Stupid symbol for the Nazis anyway, it was equivalent to a peace symbol in it's time. I imagine the Burger Reich might eventually adopt a common symbol... Maybe a soyjak?
