U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi sent a letter to Minnesota Democratic Governor Tim Walz demanding the state take three specific actions before federal immigration agents would consider reducing their presence in Minneapolis, including handing over voter rolls.

In the letter, Bondi blamed both state and local leaders for the unrest that has come in response to the Trump administration's immigration enforcement operations. She said that Walz could "restore the rule of law."

So the fascists say they will stop murdering people if Minnesota just identifies the names and addresses of all people in the state who did not vote for fascism? Jesus. Fucking. Christ.

[–] Kaz@lemmy.org 11 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

They obviously have greater plans for the states they are terrorising.

[–] BotsRuinedEverything@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago

Prison labor camps.

[–] daannii@lemmy.world 20 points 16 hours ago

They need this data to conduct vote tampering.

This is why they want it.

They will target machines with high use of Dem voters.

There is zero reason why the federal government should have that list except for nefarious intentions.

[–] Oyml77@lemmy.world 9 points 14 hours ago

Pam Bondi is gruesome cunt.

Never forget she was AG of Florida from 2011 to 2019, and could readily have prosecuted Epstein herself. It's not like he stopped offending in 2008.

What about the regimes' narrative that ICE's presence is necessary and there are dangerous criminals they're looking for? Surely if ICE needed to be there, they wouldn't be able to pull back in exchange for voter info

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 56 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

What the fuck kind of extortion/racketeering is this?

"Our armed thugs will continue terrorizing your constituents until you give us confidential information that can be used to identify anyone who votes against us" fuck outta here!

[–] Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works 33 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

It's an open admission that it was never about immigration.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 10 points 18 hours ago

At least she looks like she's aging in dog years. It's a small consolation knowing that selling your soul to the devil won't keep your vanity intact for very long. Hatred really does leave its marks on ones face...

before federal immigration agents would consider reducing their presence in Minneapolis,

"Consider" is doing a lot of work there. It guarantees this is an empty promise. I mean, it was anyway, even if it had stronger language, but this means it can be ignored.

Also, why is Bondi blackmailing states? Why are the feds interfering with states' rights?

[–] evenglow@lemmy.world 53 points 23 hours ago

It's not a promise. It's Republicans threatening people who they are supposed to be helping.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 30 points 22 hours ago

Imagine trusting this bitch at face value

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 109 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

She said that Walz could "restore the rule of law."

Classic reverse victim and offender.

[–] Avicenna@programming.dev 4 points 12 hours ago

she is actually confessing that ICE is continuously breaking the law

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 28 points 22 hours ago

Well she said it. Walz needs to mobilize police and deputize citizens to eliminate ice. I mean, I don't think he can ignore the order if it comes from DHS

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 80 points 22 hours ago

Tim, your answer is:

"We, in the United States, do not negotiate with terrorists."

[–] whotookkarl@lemmy.dbzer0.com 27 points 21 hours ago

If you coerce someone to do what you want politically under violence it's usually called terrorism

[–] SkavarSharraddas@gehirneimer.de 15 points 21 hours ago

Preparing for election fraud, like their efforts to sue media that reports low Trump approval rates. Gotta make sure that non-Trump voters have difficulties voting e.g. by purging their registrations, and if that's not enough and Trump doesn't win, declare the result as fraudulent because Trump's poll results were so good (because nobody dared report bad results).

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 15 points 18 hours ago

Oh, Like Kamala wasn’t going to shoot citizens in the head to extort voter information in order to rig the election.

Honestly you liberals are so dumb.

spoiler/s

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 31 points 20 hours ago

Pam Blondi is a terrorist.

[–] 0ndead@infosec.pub 5 points 14 hours ago

Too bad Pam Bondi’s dad didn’t offer to pull out

[–] tyrant@lemmy.world 41 points 22 hours ago

"before they would consider" fuck them. Fuck their bullshit. Even if they complied with these terrorist demands it's not going to have any impact on the ice situation. "We considered and decided not to remove them" same old boring ass playbook.

There is no honor. They have been waging a social war and Democrats keep playing by the old rules.

[–] Asmodeus_Krang@infosec.pub 20 points 20 hours ago

Sounds like coercion to me.

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 9 points 18 hours ago

I see we’ve now hit the “Trump is tired of this and wants to TACO, but you have to make it look like he’s winning something” stage.

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 7 points 17 hours ago

Well shit, Bondi's demands are in line with Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Franco and Mao.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 27 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I saw someone say that she's literally from Minnesota, and as such can just pay a $20 processing fee and get the voter rolls thru official means...

They're making a ridiculously easy to fufil demand so idiots don't realize they're not getting anything after the literal extrajudicial executions.

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 3 points 17 hours ago

They don't just want voter rolls. They want voter INFORMATION, including the things that the state collects but isn't normally public, like SSN, party affiliation (sometimes), etc.

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 19 points 22 hours ago

How about go fuck yourself, Pam. This isn't a negotiation.

[–] gdog05@lemmy.world 10 points 19 hours ago

Bold request from the people who owe us the Epstein files. Walz should send the 100+ page blacked out PDF to them.

[–] RandomStickman@fedia.io 16 points 22 hours ago

So they're attacking the civilian population and now has released demands to further their political gains?

I think we have a term for those kind of people and we don't negotiate with them.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 9 points 20 hours ago

And so the dollar store Don Corleone wannabe failure again tries a protection racket and nobody bats an eye

If this were Democrats doing it, Republicans would (rightfully so) literally throw hell around, but Republicans do it and meh, Maga is fine with it

Fuck these clowns

[–] Hegar@fedia.io 13 points 22 hours ago

Bullshit. What kinda of idiot would believe a lying nazi?

The fascist death squads we built are murdering americans in cold blood, but if you make it easier for us to fake the next election we'll definitely leave you alone.

Sure, very believable. 🙄

[–] ruuster13@lemmy.zip 10 points 21 hours ago

Zoom in on the photo of Bondi in the article. She's starting to look like The Joker. You cannot hide what's inside.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 12 points 22 hours ago

the Department of Justice be given the state’s voter registration records, that the state repeal the "sanctuary policies," and share its records on Medicaid, and Food and Nutrition Service programs.

So, let them run free anyway (revoke sanctuary policies), and let them know where everyone lives and how they vote, and what areas should be targeted when they go after the poor, and maybe they'll consider leaving? Fat chance.

The attorney general said that there had been a 1,300 percent increase in violence against ICE officers and a 3,200 percent increase in vehicular attacks against federal agents

Maybe if ICE wasn't targeting PoC regardless of citizenship status, refusing to accept valid documentation, and intentionally escalating the situation in multiple multiple ways, there'd be less "violence" and "vehicle attacks". And, btw, since "violence against ICE" and "vehicular attacks" were miniscule numbers beforehand, a "1300%" and "3200%" increase in those numbers is also still a fairly small number - and that even assumes that what she's describing as "violence against ICE" and "vehicular attacks" actually are such things (which I very sincerely doubt). These are Faux "News" numbers made up by a favorite guest of Faux "News".

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 3 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Criminal bitch is trying to blackmail them. Report that shit

[–] NOPper@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

To whom? The US Attorney General? SCOTUS? This shit is raining down from the highest levels of government and nobody's been held accountable for breaking the law yet. 🤷‍♂️

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 0 points 12 hours ago

Should at least try the scotus. Might shame them into doing something since its all their fault

[–] crystalmerchant@lemmy.world 6 points 20 hours ago

No. Fuck you

[–] Flying_Lynx@lemmy.ml 4 points 19 hours ago

The Voter Protection Project, in a post on X: "That’s not immigration policy. That’s leverage. Even more, it's election interference dressed up as "enforcement."

[–] Jerb322@lemmy.world 7 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

Why? What do they expect to find?

[–] Maiq@piefed.social 38 points 23 hours ago

Democrat voters to be purged before midterm elections.

[–] Darkassassin07@lemmy.ca 24 points 23 hours ago

More victims to harass and assault.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago

Evil fucks gonna evil.

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 1 points 17 hours ago

Will the US act?? Or nah.
