Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Who are they gonna parade out, Kid Rock and Vanilla Ice?

Edit:

Fewer than two weeks away, the right-wing alternative still hasn’t announced a single performer.

lol

[–] grimpy@lemmy.myserv.one 18 points 1 month ago

looking forward to seeing the premiere of the Kristi Noem/Stephen Miller Band!!!

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

It would be interesting to see if they will get someone at all.

[–] a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Kid Rock, Niki Minaj, and the squishy fat face who is afraid of cities.

the squishy fat face who is afraid of cities.

You may have to be more specific on this one, lol

This guy looks like he trolls the depths of grindr.

[–] TwodogsFighting@lemdro.id 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Stephen Miller and that ice twat decked out in their nazi leather collection slinging a synchronised all male dance routine or some mad shit.

Is there anywhere I can put a bet on it being the most repressed nazi nonsense I've ever seen?

[–] CobblerScholar@lemmy.world 43 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Wow can't wait to hear about how bad it was slash how many contractors get stiffed

[–] spongebue@lemmy.world 53 points 1 month ago (5 children)

[–] lennee@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

[–] andrewta@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

His / button is broke.

Or was using voice to text. Sometimes voice to text gets weird

[–] MonkeMischief@lemmy.today 4 points 1 month ago

Did you just type the word "slash"?

Perhaps hoping Guns N' Roses shows up.

[–] CobblerScholar@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Hundred percent

[–] Darkard@lemmy.world 37 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's just reruns of Erika Kirks mourning ceremony

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 18 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Is it going to have a guest appearance by Vance, who will then openly grab her ass and make out on stage in front of Vance’s wife, too? Because that would be both hilariously gross and peak comedy.

[–] W98BSoD@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 month ago (2 children)
[–] nova_ad_vitum@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

There's already a leaked phone call (apparently Candace Owens leaked it lol) of Erika here bragging about how much money she's making touring on Kirk's death . 11 days after he was killed.

Lmfao holy shit. Do you have a direct link to the post?

Also: frankly I don’t have any sympathy whatsoever for Usha. She, a non-white person, chose to marry and then stay with a psychopathic white supremacist. She chose to support him in becoming part of a regime whose goals were nakedly apparent. The fact that she quietly put up with all of that is effectively a tacit endorsement of the whole shebang. She knew what she was doing. And the white supremacists aren’t gonna give her a pass because she’s (currently) married to Vance. This falls squarely in leopards eating faces territory.

[–] W98BSoD@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago

I do not. Sorry!

[–] IronBird@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

that'd be too charismatic a move for vance

[–] IronpigsWizard@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That Turning Point USA halftime show is going be be hilarious.

I'm just picturing random big name country star, a drunk Billy Ray Cyrus, a light up christian cross, with sparkler fireworks coming off it, being lowered down from the ceiling as the lights dim, then out walks Kid Rock and Vanilla Ice to do a country rap rendition of the TMNT - Ninja Rap proving once and for all we are in hell.

[–] sachabe@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Also they have Nicki Minaj now 🤷

[–] yesman@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

We should have counter-programming for Trump's State of the Union. Can you imagine the fury from POTUS if his prime-time speech on all the networks got stepped on by Beyonce' on TBS?

[–] lennee@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

ah just collectively watch an episode of spongebob

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Puppy Bowl but it's all feral German Shepherds? No, that might actually be entertaining.

It's probably just "We Are Charlie Kirk" on a loop for fifteen minutes

[–] mysticpickle@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 month ago

Who are they gonna trot out to headline? Ted Nugent? Kid Rock? Do they even have anyone that isn't washed up or brain damaged?

[–] itsgroundhogdayagain@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 month ago

Let me guess, Lee Greenwood will be there?

[–] boaratio@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I'm partial to the puppy bowl halftime show.

[–] Dhar@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] boaratio@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Good one ;-)

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 month ago

I'm partial to the puppy bowl over the super bowl in general.

[–] Zahille7@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

What, is it just gonna cut to some other performance in an entirely different venue?

[–] pwnicholson@lemmy.world 23 points 1 month ago

Yeah. It's been a fairly common thing for decades. Counter programming during the halftime, encouraging people to flip channels. Puppy bowl on the animal channel is probably the most famous (and innocuous)

[–] Danarchy@lemmy.nz 5 points 1 month ago

These people are so thin-skinned

[–] ieatpwns@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Watch it be just dudes in military cosplay being all buff and sweaty and firm Meanwhile bad bunny will have baddies dropping it like it’s hot

[–] vodkasolution@feddit.it 3 points 1 month ago

I thought this was r/nottheonion

[–] Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Good luck with that vance. We all know who is controlling the couch there.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Ugh. "We are all Charlie Kirk"? Um, no....no, we aren't.

[–] grimpy@lemmy.myserv.one 2 points 1 month ago

sure hope we get to see Coldplay again

[–] kate@lemmy.uhhoh.com 1 points 1 month ago

does it fuck other half-time shows? what

[–] UltraGiGaGigantic@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Sure hope there isnt a false flag attack on the super bowl.

Do ya think the superbowl is to far from the midterms?

[–] andrewta@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Honestly, the halftime show has been boring for many years. I’ll probably just record the game and then start watching a little bit late so I can fast forward through the halftime show.

[–] XeroxCool@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

When was the last time you enjoyed it? What changed?

[–] andrewta@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Loved 2000 with Phil Collins and Christina Aguilera

2001 with Aerosmith and Britney Spears was good

2004 with Janet Jackson was good up to a certain point

2007 with Prince was awesome

2013 with Beyoncé was good if I remember right

2017 with lady Gaga was interesting although weird at times(for the record, I really do like Lady Gaga’s singing. I’m a huge fan of hers. But the halftime show left a little bit to be desired.)

I’d say 2013 was the last I can say was really good. Not that Gaga was bad though

After that, the music many times is stuff I don’t enjoy or really listen to. And the style just changed not sure how to explain it

[–] XeroxCool@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Quite frankly, that just sounds like the music finally got too new. You're not in tune with the latest music, nor the celebrity personalities tied to the acts. The performance style is trending with the latest popular demand.

There is a difference in "the show is boring" and "the show is boring to me now"

[–] andrewta@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You are probably correct on that. Although the majority of the people I talk to have gotten bored with halftime show

[–] XeroxCool@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Same demographics, primarily age?
