I've trained my son to point out every MuskMobile he sees and say "Ewwww, cyber truck"

[–] XxFemboy_Stalin_420_69xX@hexbear.net 60 points 1 day ago (1 children)

they're ugly as shit, this is a terrible post

[–] AnarchoAnarchist@hexbear.net 2 points 15 hours ago

They were very clearly trying to emulate the DeLorean styling. Instead, they emulated the DeLoreans status as a market failure that bankrupted its company.

[–] segfault11@hexbear.net 58 points 1 day ago (1 children)

why isn't this in badposting

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 21 points 1 day ago (2 children)

containment just doesn't work

[–] ComradeRat@hexbear.net 5 points 1 day ago

Just as sometimes there are good posts in badposting, sometimes there are bad posts in goodposting

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 58 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I mean, they do look awful though

I think most cars look awful, but this one is especially awful

[–] 9to5@hexbear.net 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I think it looks silly . But silly is good. I would never buy one and its probably a death trap but at least it looks different I guess.

[–] huf@hexbear.net 15 points 1 day ago

peak car was like columbo era and before, and it's been all downhill since then. they just look like bubbles. or cheap sports shoes.

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It does look like a car that a child would draw

So I say we compromise, children can have little Power Wheels Cybertruck

[–] TerminalEncounter@hexbear.net 26 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I havent played the game or tried it but it wouldnt surprise me if this is actually where the design for it came from

holy shit I played that

I used to just get put in the computer lab at my mom's school so I played many 2e games

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 8 points 1 day ago

Shit. Apple II

Had one of those in Kindergarten

Don't think we had that game though

I think if the cybertruck actually was what it's trying to look like it would be cool. Like the blocky look to me is trying to evoke something super cheap and practical, "we bolted a big battery and an electric motor to some steel plates, take it for a drive!" If that's what it actually was it would look extremely cool - but in reality it's a $100k luxury vehicle that's shit at being a truck and exclusively owned by people who want to flex their wealth.

I love the blocky look of the 80s and 90s. I really prefer the blocky bmws and little toyotas of that era. Don’t mean to body shame but these new cars have too many curves

[–] Hermes@hexbear.net 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, I hate to say it, but I don't hate the exterior of it. If that same aesthetic was made by a Chinese company it would be pretty neat.

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 2 points 1 day ago

If the same aesthetic were made by a Chinese company it would cost like $15k and work a lot better

[–] Chana@hexbear.net 32 points 1 day ago

They look cool when they're on fire

[–] AFineWayToDie@hexbear.net 32 points 1 day ago (1 children)

my daughter loves cybertrucks, she also recently stuck play dough up her nose.

[–] GaveUp@hexbear.net 14 points 1 day ago

Your daughter sounds really cool

[–] PoY@lemmygrad.ml 25 points 1 day ago

they absolutely do not look cool im afraid

[–] CommunistBear@hexbear.net 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Every time I see a cucktruck I can't help but laugh. They're so fucking goofy looking

[–] Sickos@hexbear.net 5 points 1 day ago

See, I think I would get no small amount of joy driving the pointy fascist truck because it's so goofy looking. If Elon had been less Elon and the truck had looked like that but, like, worked, I'd be all about it. Wake up, "lol, what a goofy ass truck". Then drive around my goofy ass truck and bring joy to people who point and laugh at the goofy ass truck.

[–] astutemural@midwest.social 19 points 1 day ago

Nah, they're a rolling dumpster. They're not even good-bad like a PT Cruiser.

[–] morphballganon@mtgzone.com 13 points 1 day ago

Ok so we've got at least 13 Leon bootlickers here

[–] DasRav@hexbear.net 5 points 1 day ago
[–] naom3@hexbear.net 8 points 1 day ago

Idk, I used to begrudgingly think that cybertrucks did at least look kinda cool and fun, but it turns out they’re much more ugly in person

[–] TerminalEncounter@hexbear.net 15 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I saw someone with a wrap or paint job on their cybertruck, weird. If they have the money for one, I guess I would expect more people to have a wrap on it

But the most bizarre was the guy who was using it for actual work. WTF, like a landscaping company cybertruck that was hauling equipment.

Its a truck that I think everyone knows, maybe with a wink, its not for actual work. Its to drive you to the office and bring groceries home. Yet here was one being used for its supposed purpose, like the driver wasnt in on the joke...

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Funniest thing i ever saw

Landscaper who bought a Cybertruck for work, had his business wrap on it and everything

Couldn't reverse up a 35° incline, kept losing traction and sliding back down the driveway

I sat there and laughed for a couple of minutes

[–] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 9 points 1 day ago

Perfect work truck for a landscaper, you can fit an entire shovel in that bed!

The clown is probably stuck with it since it lost most of its value once it left the dealership and doesn't want to spend more money getting an actual decent work vehicle. Also it probably works fine if you can fit all your tools inside and aren't driving in difficult conditions.

[–] deforestgump@hexbear.net 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I would seize one. But never buy one.

[–] GaveUp@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago

It would make great for scrap metal compared to normal cars

[–] robotElder2@hexbear.net 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

There's a guy in my neighborhood with a maroon cybertruck. In my head I have decided that this man is a fledgling vampire that the rest of house tremere is keeping around as a patsy.

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Cybertrucks are totally a Tremere thing

Also Ventrue

Venture drive the Phantom if they drive at all, they have people for that

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago

they look like a Star Fox enemy from before we invented textured polygons

[–] Mindfury@hexbear.net 8 points 1 day ago

are you denying that elon musk is a paedophile?

[–] PaulSmackage@hexbear.net 7 points 1 day ago

I only know of two around here locally. The one is owned by a couple who hide their faces when they're around it. The other one I'm not so sure about because it decided to burst into flames a few weeks after delivery.

[–] The_hypnic_jerk@hexbear.net 3 points 1 day ago

I once saw one on a foggy evening in Chinatown, and there were like some neon shining around reflecting off it and it did look really blade runner.

Even if he cyber truck was reliable and safe, I'd still think it looks dorky as hell, and not in an endearing way, like a fiat multipla, a fiat 500 or a Citroen 2CV.
