Trump is going to sign an EO to bring back the draft, and congress is just gonna let it happen.
And it this is anything like Russia and Ukraine, and it is (the US being Russia), hell expand the age of the draft as the war gets worse and worse.
It could happen, but I doubt it. The last time the US had a legitimate anti-war movement, it was in large part due to the draft.

Normally, if they're gonna invade shit, they stage the invasion forces, meaning tanks and grunts, at least in the theater.
All I've heard about is two carrier groups, which is a lot, but it's not going to invade anything. I also heard that one of the carriers deployed with broken shitters, so that's got to be going great.
The US military has been skittish on regime change since Vietnam, but had a lot of those points reinforced by Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Trump administration is using the military more like Reagan used it, make some quick attacks combined with spy operations and manipulate the chaos to get diplomatic goals achieved. The US doesn't want to own the rebuilding effort since that is the costly part.

Saying no one wants this is a lie. First Israel-firsters want this, the military industrial complex, Lindsay Graham & the neocons, Trump, Fetterman (what a joke), soon to be MGP & all the AIPAC funded Democrats. You won't see most Democrats doing a damn thing about this... Don't forget they can file the paperwork tomorrow asking for a TRO in federal court regarding abuse of war powers. I get death threats & death wishes by them on here regularly. They say, you didn't vote for my candidate & therefore you deserve to die.
