In a better timeline, "Snowflake" and "Safespace" would be names of two characters in an ultra-meta-post-ironic MS Paint looking parody fanime by a non-binary person satirizing liberal satire of chud onejokes while also satirizing the chud onejokes themselves. Unfortunately, in this timeline, Marvel got to the idea first.

On the one hand, non-binary people don't owe anyone androgyny: my own non-binary OC reads as pretty fem-presenting outside of xyr own fictional culture, but goes by xe/xem, You Can Just Do That. So if these two characters were real people, we hopefully wouldn't be complaining about them not looking "enby enough."
On the other hand… It really does feel in context like they just took a stock woman and man, gave them both short hair, and gave the woman the boy color and the man the girl color, and called it a day. It feels like a pretty cringe forced insertion of the gender binary, I guess.

This is always the difference between writing a character in a particular way and a conscious human being choosing to act in a particular way. A character has no agency, so they'll be a collection of ideas that the creator has about that group, and if they aren't a part of that particular group and don't actually bother to research them and try to understand them, it will most likely end up with the character just being a bunch of stereotypes.
It's really frustrating, I apparently put more effort into researching and writing characters for fucking porn games than big projects with huge budgets like this do.

I think there are a lot of good ideas present in Kamala Khan, I'm just not sure they've been executed on well. I haven't read any of her comics though, just some posts about her and then the Disney+ stuff.

Their story continues when they have a checkers guy they have to play chess against (the villain comes back playing chess so they have to learn 4d chess). They have a computer programmer (binary babe) they have to go into the quantum realm to expose her weakness.
All the while they're trying to reconnect with their estranged nonbinary sibling who they shunned while they were closeted and they're looking for redemption.
