I think it’s because fauci was presidently pardoned and that changes the rules since technically you can’t go to jail for what they’re questioning on so he doesn’t need to plead the 5th. But I assume he didn’t want to open doors to other shit
except they keep saying he should be prosecuted. Their own retorict changes the rules again. Oh also they just ignore and violate the law including the constitution on a regular basis.
I just read the rule, he did the right thing by pleading the 5th since if he answers it can lead him to incriminating himself and in this case they were over reaching, go figure

It’s frustrating, but an entirely correct response from Fauci, because this isn’t and was never about facts or data or science at all. The hearing is political kabuki of the absolute dumbest variety.

Fauci taking the 5th won't move anyone between any of those categories, even with the headlines.

It's extremely pragmatic and not at all politically convenient, which is exactly what I'd expect from Fauci.
I have said it before and I will say it again. The reublican party as a whole has to go. I get the problems with the democrats but we need to make a new floor for crappiness which the dems are perfect for. They can split or a third party comes up or both but its not going to happen until the republicans cannot win anywhere close to a majority.

A pandemic embarrasses an entire political party and confirms their inability to do anything other than blame minorities. Since they can't blame the virus for their failures, they blame the closest thing to a virus - the scientific community that was focused on saving American lives.
