I'm starting to think that these "record ticket prices" are less about more people going to the movies and more a sign of inflation, if the prices have doubled in the last decade, then you only need half as many ticket sales to make the same amount of money. So even if fewer people go to the movies, they're still making more money.

Spider-man is awesome, and I enjoyed this movie quite a bit; better than the last? Hard to say; them canonizing all the previous spider-man movies was extremely awesome. One of the things I always enjoyed about spider-man was that it wasn't just superhero content, you had his personal life too. Most superheroes have uninteresting personal lives and you don't really feel their attachment to it, plus there isn't this disconnect between their superhero identity and their personal lives. Spider-man really feels like he fights two antagonists in his life: the ones against spider-man, and the hardships of his personal life. Batman always has this ridiculous forced concept of 'is he batman or bruce wayne?', but he really is only batman; Spider-man is the guy who truly has this struggle, but thankfully they don't market it as a theme. Peter Parker in this movie genuinely had serious internal struggles in this movie.
Did I mention I like spider-man?
Peter Parker is also from the working class while Bruce Wayne is a bourgeois, so naturally it’s easier to empathize with Peter Parker and it puts his purpose of being a superhero in a more positive light than wayne’s which is just beating up mentally ill people
There's a reason the most interesting and dynamic Batman story is the Court of the Owl; bougie Batman coming into conflict with the personification of Gotham's capitalist class and starting out by getting his naive ass wrecked is a far better story than Batman-Super Cop or Batman Asylum-filler
Unless it's Absolute Batman, that Bruce is absolutely great and a working class hero.
I mean Bruce Wayne isnt just upper class he is literally a billionaire with an estimated networth of about 20 billion give or take (based on averages). He Is basically a different species alltogether.

Absolute Batman is literally a superhuman. How is he relatable in any way. His working class credentials is like two off hand mentions of having a job.
He is relatable in the sense that he is a kickass dude and not a trillionaire. At least to me. Im LITERALLY (yes LITERALLY) EXACTLY LIKE ABSOLUTE BATMAN.

Big same. I completely checked out of superhero movies after endgame. But I have a soft spot for Spider-Man so I’ve still been watching his
i guess this shit never gets old for most people huh? i was pretty tired of the comic book movies after the third or fourth Batman movie way back when
I love spider-man; growing up spider-man and wolverine were my favorite comics; if I have to pick between watching every superhero movie except spider-man or spider-man's movies are the only superhero movies I'm allowed to watch, I'd choose spider-man every time
i used to watch the cartoons and i read through some of my friend's comics and loved that. But the movies just get so old. They're like 95% computer generated smash cities and 5% some random love story.
I still prefer the animated over the live-action ones, back in the 2000s - 1990s the live-action movies were either silly bad or actually interesting, nowadays they are just boring shit that on top of that promotes US and Israeli propaganda.

In all seriousness, the spiderman movies have been fairly consistently decent slop. The previous one was a little too up spiderman movie meta bullshit, but still managed to setup a world where spiderman isn't already friendly with every major super hero on the planet. We'll see how long that lasts. I'm cautiously optimistic for this.

Spider-man has always had multiverse stories, and this was a super awesome way to canonize all the previous movies
I liked seeing Toby and Garfield spidermen, it's funny to see that stuff, but it's hard to really take any fight seriously when 3 spidermen are on screen and two of them are disposable. Willem Defoe back as the gobin was excellent though. Raimi really did some excellent casting for his villains.
And they finally realised that Willem Dafoe does not need a scary facemask.
Shame they didn't have much time for the others to do more than Say The Line, but it was pretty crowded. Electro got his very sympathetic character basically ignored... rather like in his actual film.

Why didn't they just call this Spuderman: Tomorrow. Every day is a brand new day by definition.
I saw the first Iron Man back before it was a whole cinematic universe and then I saw Dr Strange which seemed to be mostly standalone. I’m considering seeing this because I’ve seen clips from No Way Home and this one looks interesting. I refuse to watch dozens of movies and a bunch of tv shows and whatever else to prepare. Any chance I’ll understand what’s happening?
