Because they don't hate the game. Its all performative. They love the attention that lashing out at Popular New Thing provokes. And they love riding the algorithm, wherein anyone talking about Popular New Thing frequently enough gets promoted to the top of the automated attention queue.
This is all about generating influence through attention seeking behaviors. The game itself doesn't matter, save that someone is spending a fortune to promote mentions of it and that offers these shits an elevated platform to say provocative shit.
Fascists need an enemy to unite against to feel a sense of purpose, belonging, and community.
Also, the adrenaline and cortisol from gewtting yourself really worked up about something makes you feel alive, which many of them likely only get from expressions of rage and anger.
IMO first there are not that many actualy good AAA games these days anyway, anyone who seriously spent over $2000 on a gaming PC recently is stuck with either a couple of exceptions(e.g BG3) or just the mountain of garbage live services etc.
As a result its incredibly easy to rile up woke culture war as the reason why games suck now, shit like
